Matt Maiocco, of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, reports the San Francisco 49ers rejected a trade with the Denver Broncos that involved Broncos WR Ashley Lelie. The Broncos were shopping Lelie for a second-round pick. 49ers vice president of player personnel Scot McCloughan said, "He does have some talent. He's more of a vertical guy, outside the numbers, and can stretch the field, but we had some issues with other things. (I'm) not saying he wouldn't fit in, but ... what kind of football player are we going to have when it's said and done?" He said the team would be interested if the Broncos' asking price drops dramatically.

What kind of reciever are they looking for? Lelie is a quality WR and they need some1 to replace Lloyd.

IMO he meant his Lelie's attitude. A 2nd round pick and him being disgruntled is kind of high....

All the papers here in Colorado say that Lelie wants to be the main receiver and as long as Rod Smith is around he won't be. Lelie hasn't done much since he was a top draft pick for the Broncos. The Broncos have drafted a lot of busts.....he is an ok receiver but he drops a lot of passes.

No, it's not made public until a player is suspended (3rd offense).......why do you think that evreyone was got so worked up that Ricky's latest failure 'leaked'.

Remeber that no one knew that Ricky was in the NFL's drug program until after he retired and the news of his 3rd failed test broke.

I can't blame the Niners at all........I wouldn't trade a 2nd round pick for Lelie either......he's a one trick pony as they described. All he can do is run go routes.....and he's not quite Randy Moss, so the value isn't there.
