Does anyone here think that was a BS call? I thought Ricky would get the spot due to foward progress, and thats what it looked like to me.

I actually woulda perferred someone other than RW have gotten that run....he has the fresher legs but I think Ronnie woulda got it.....Or even Ferrote sneaking through the middle...O'well hindsight is 20/20

Yeah, I mentioned in another thread that I felt it truly was a bad call and that they gave us a HORRIBLE spot behind the first down marker and I really do think Ricky got the first on forward progress. But once I saw the spot they gave us, I knew we wouldn't win the challenge because it's impossible to find enough conclusive evidence with all those bodies all over the place, you can't get an accurate measurement on where the ball really is which is why it's really hard to get those type of challenges overturned. Determining where the ball is spotted is a judgement call by the referree and I personally think he made a bad judgement call and gave us a HORRIBLE spot.

I personally think the refs have become too involved in the game. They are deciding too many games. Not due to final plays... but momentum changing plays within the games. Typical "no call" situations are becoming flagged. I mean honestly... offensive holding, false starts (leaning, flinching).... it is well known that offensive holding can be called on every play. How many times have you seen a defender held and no call? Which begs the question, when it is called.. why? Is it PURELY subjective? If so, that's a BIG problem.

the call was terrible, but i wasnt too mad cause i knew the game was over.

anyway, it was so clear that he made it. the ball only had to get to the beginning of the 4 yard line. ricky was upright with his left foot directly on the 4. it was a horrible call

Due to the fact that there was NOT a perfect camera angle, no one really knows. The angle that CBS used was close, but wasn't a straight on shot. Randy Cross was only guessing when he said it was a bad spot, he didn't really know. It's all about angles.

I guess if Randy Cross says the Fins got a bad call, it must have been horrible.
