5 Bold Ways Dolphins Could Start Cleaning House Today

I don't really disagree with anything except the Tannehill crap.....but you can tell this guy wrote this pretty quick and then tried to pretty it up by adding pictures.

I agree with the entire article. Cut Foster he sucks, trade Tannehill (he won't be here anyway next season imo, and this season is toast), definitely fire that loser Tannenbaum, cut Maxwell, trade Pouncey. Those all sound like good decisions.

Actually it makes a lot of sense. Tannenbaum obviously needs to go, Tannehill will always be mediocre at best, Pouncey is barely better than Steen, and Maxwell flat out sucks. Get rid of them for whatever they can get draft wise. The Dolphins need as many bodies as they can get.

Sounds like some typical FH bloviating. What about the gawd-awful-to-the-point-of-embarrassment defense aside from the obvious in Maxwell? How about demoting Vance Joseph and finding someone on the street or who's been demoted that's successfully coordinated in the past for starters

Good point. Outside of Maxwell most of the focus has been on the O. Vance needs to get his crap together quick bc I'm sick of watching games where the opposing team has 3rd and 25 and looking at my son saying "well hell....you know they're going to convert it on us". It's disgusting what this D has been doing to us.

Too over-simplify, my targets are Maxwell and whoever plays RDE (some say Jones, but most often I see Branch). Not saying the others are good, but I'm sooooo tired of seeing the opposing O in 3rd and 7 and thinking (correctly) "run to the D's right." And still, my favorite complaint . . . not a playmaker in the bunch.

except it takes zero consideration for the fact this is not Madden. trading Tannehill, Pouncey, and/or Maxwell at this point bombs our cap through next offseason. so what is even the point of discussing it?

Trading those bums would not kill Miami's cap. Cutting them now will though.

No one is trading for Maxwell. That guy will be out of the league next year.

Pouncey has value but not much. The injury history is getting long and the chronic hip issues would be a concern for any team...that risk would be mitigated by low compensation but the salary would come off the books.

Tannehill has no value in a trade. Most teams would know that if Miami was shopping him, they don't want to pay his salary and would most likely cut him before paying him, which would then make him a free agent.

This article might as well been written in crayon. It really just is a mindless article.

Not sure what games you are watching but the longest 3rd down we allowed to be converted this year is 3rd and 12 vs Seattle and 3rd and 11 vs Cleveland. All the rest of the conversions are 10 or less yards. Now I know the defense is playing badly but to make up stuff to make them look worse is just foolish. They don't need your help.

I would trade Landry, too. He actually has value and it's a position where we have depth. I'd like to start seeing Carroo and Grant get opportunities. As it turns out, we paid dearly to get WRS and running backs when we needed guards and defensive backs.

Let's face it, we flat-out threw away our 3rd and 4th round picks if contending this season was any kind of priority.

You can't unless you can block and tackle, and Miami might be the worst 2 teams in football at both endeavors.

I mean Miami might be the worst team in football in those 2 endeavors.

It's hard to tell the value of our scheming when our talent level is miles below our opponent on defense and our back-up offensive line. When we have our starting 5 offensive linemen, we're not great but we're at least an NFL offense. With Albert and Tunsil out, we should literally just forfeit the game.

I agree with trade Pouncey. I've not been a Tannenbaum fan, but the problem goes deeper than him, it includes our scouts ... as I've been saying for years. Maxwell's salary situation makes a trade a non-starter and prevents him from being cut until the offseason.

I keep wishing we could trade Pouncey to Pittsburgh for DeCastro. They get a player they can use and cover at C when Maukrice gets injured. We get a great G at a position of absolute need and we can plug Steen in at C. Pipe dream I know.

Looking around the league, I keep noticing that the injured Jimmy Graham doesn't really fit in with the Seattle offense. He can't run block. But damn would he be good in Gase's offense as a seam and red zone threat. It seems like we should be able to find a way to make a trade for him. His salary really hurts a team that needs that cap space. Maybe they would take Pouncey or perhaps even Landry, who would be great for them.
