IMO here are 5 changes that the Phins need to implement now.

1) Dumb penalties. Althought they have gotten better, there are still too many penalties being comitted. We are leading the NFL in Defensive penalties. And most of these penalties are stupid penaties that keep drives alive. The Offense is not any better, they are still killing drives, and momentum with stupid, senseless penalties.

2) Change Qb's. This topic has been discussed enough, so I wont bother you with too many details as why we should do this. But after today, Saban has to realize that the team is not heading anywhere with Gus at the helm. On a day like today where the O-line did a good job of protection Gus was again off target. I believe some of those drops should/could have been caught but the Qb has to try to position the ball in an area where the receiver has a better chance of catching those passes.

3) Increase the running game. Another topic that has been highly discussed. With Ronnie and Ricky being our best offensive weapons we need to give them the ball more often. Linehan is an OC who likes to pass the ball a lot. But, he has to understand that our strenght right now is R & R in the back field.

4) 3rd downs miscuses. Our innability to stop the oposittion in critical 3rd downs, and our offensive 3rd down meltdowns have really hurt our team this year. If it's because of poor play calling, or maybe poor player's execution of those plays, or a dump penalty... we cant seem to execute adecuatelly on 3rd down plays. This has got to improve dramatically.

5) Stop the "fancy" Offensive play calling. Teams have done enough scouting to know how to stop our end-arounds, reverses, and other trick plays that Linehan is coming up with. They are not being effective. Also utilize your offensive weapons. With the game on the line, for example, why go with an offensive play on 3rd and short when our best players are running backs who have showned the ability to move the chains??

I agree with everything you say. Especially, running Ronnie and Ricky more. I just think the most criticakl situation in the game was the 3rd and 2 that Frerotte threw the pick. Should have ran the ball, twice if needed to get that first down.

Oh hell I agree wholeheartedly, with R&R we should be running the ball 50 times. I don't care how good your defense is, they WILL wear down, and big runs will be broken by both backs. As far as QB, I thought Sage out performed everyone in the preseason, irregardless of playing against 3rd stringers, he was playing with 3rd stringers.

I just can't fathom how after 9 weeks, AT LEAST four of those haven't already been corrected.
