Mora and especially Martz making the top five really, truly scares me.

Out of those five, Tomlin is probably our best bet.

Of the other 10 candidates the Dolphins have interviewed, sources said the most likely to be brought back for more talks are: Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt, Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Mike Martz, former Atlanta Falcons coach Jim Mora, Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Mike Tomlin, Dolphins defensive coordinator Dom Capers and Georgia Tech coach Chan Gailey.
The Dolphins also will monitor this weekend's games for potential candidates, including Indianapolis Colts assistant head coach Jim Caldwell. The former Wake Forest coach has been in the Dolphins' sights because of his influence on the Colts' offense.
Chargers coach Marty Schottenheimer, 63, reportedly could be fired if New England upsets San Diego on Sunday.
Thats what the article says

tomlin to get an interview Monday.

Wow...

pretty dissapointed in that list.
That we are even considering Martz makes me ill.

Tomlin came out of nowhere.
I'd like us to have an offense minded coach like many others on here and his body of work with defense isn't exactly the best. The Vikings were unbelievably one dimensional in there approach to D this year and that's his only experience to look to as a Coodinator let alone HC experience.

I don't want anyone messing with the D system we've brought in either. Hiring a coach with offense background and keeping Capers is a no brainer IMO. Just fire the extra 40 coaches Saban brought in and pay Capers some top $$.

I'd much rather go with Schottenheimer if we were to gamble on a young coach.

This guy Tomlin must have really put a sell job on us.
Hope he can back up whatever he talked up.

Oh well, we'll see.

Go WHIZ!

I also like Tomlin a lot though, and Mora is a favorite of mine but I didn't find Wayne too interested.

the article says most likely, so that may or may not be the list.

If that is the list, I don't want Martz. I may need to take a sabotical if he is our next HC.

They should sign Mike Tomlin out of those 5 and would like to see them go with a coach who specializes in defense.

Usually I agree with you, but this time we need an offensive mind coaching us. If tomlin comes, capers goes and mularkey stays I bet. That would be a nightmare!

THe only name on that list that I would want in Whisenhouse, and I'm even luke warm on that.

I thought I read somewhere yesterday where Wayne really likes Cam Cameron too. If that is the case, I am surprised he wouldn't wait until the Chargers season is over to make a run for him.

I would hope that Tomlin would have his own OC in mind

if they are giving higher grades to candidates who would like to keep Mularkey then I am at a loss

part of the second interview would be "who would you hire to fill out your staff?"

that is the big problem

if the Chargers win, we cannot wait any more

how is Cam Cameron not on the list? Are they just assuming Marty will be fired in San Diego and thus Cam would be there guy?
