  1. Jordan Phillips — It’s hard to know how poorly Phillips has practiced in training camp. On the one hand, defensive coordinator Matt Burke said Phillips has really only had one poor practice. On the other hand, Phillips has been benched the last few practices, including a scrimmage, in favor of fifth-round draft pick Davon Godchaux. How much does Phillips care? That’s the point. After the scrimmage Phillips repeatedly said to ask the coaches about his demotion. Phillips proclaimed this off-season that he’s found a way to play hard more consistently (motor has always been the knock). So whether Phillips starts or comes off the bench against Atlanta, it would serve him well to play very, very hard on every single snap.

The Chef is expected to run the middle of the defense for the next decade...getting him in the second was a coup. He is going to have some rookie bumps as he learns the NFL, but I expect big things from him.

My optimism for Julius has gone down the tubes. Ryan was not known to be a TE maker, or much of a seam threat thrower, so maybe the addition of Cutler will add a spark to JT's performance.

I am interested in this Godcheaux guy. Expected Vincent to be the DT from the draft, but how bout dat.
Hope to see the Corners get challenged and respond, and maybe see a little from the new LB corps.

Read a lot of good from Storm Johnson, so interested in his performance in live fire.
It would be awesome if Doughty got woke at this time, this is an opportunity that he has to find the testicular fortitude within himself. Afraid it just ain't there.

I'm watching the Doughty and Fales battle myself. Doughty has been ass since being drafted. Though its hard to be certain having to rely on beat reporters, it sounds as if Fales has outperformed him so far. One thing is certain. The Dolphins have got to shore up the back up QB for the future. Draft a 2nd or 3rd rounder that can play if needed or even compete to start if that's what it comes down to. Lots of questions going forward at that position.

Phillips has the type of talent to take the defense to another level if his flash plays become his norm. The coaching staff is clearly trying to challenge him to see if he can bring it out on a consistent level. I have my doubts, but obviously would love to see him emerge.

It will be fun to watch all the rookies and see if someone we haven't heard much from can surprise.

The falcons have a very good o-line and they were the only o-line that had all 5 starters in all 16 games last year so this will be a good test for our D-line in general and the DT's in particular. Also want to see our young corners do well. Falcons with very good WR's too and a QB that gets them the football.

Ozzy rules!!

I want to see the entire OL, starters and backups, prove they can pass protect and prove they can open run lanes.

I want to see Isaac Asiata step up and affirmatively win the LG spot, not get it by default.

I want to see Jakeem Grant destroy angles and break ankles in the passing game and show surehandedness as a punt and kickoff returner.

I want to See our young CB's like Tankersley, X. Howard and Lippett develop.

I want to see McMillan shutting down the run.

I'm excited to have football. We will dissect Cutler another day. There is plenty to watch in this game, but the first half will be when we see most of it.

Help me if my memories off, but I thought he started quick last year in camp only to tale off later. Regardless I share the same interest. Personally I've always been more interested in these preseason games.

I don't have much faith in Julius Thomas. He could very well be the offensive version of Mario Williams. Pass-catching tight end all of the sudden becomes a big hole if Thomas mails it in every week.. And this is a position that was supposedly upgraded by moving on from Dion Sims.

I don't know what Sims got from his new team, but it can not be that much more than what JT got. Sims is a big TE that can catch. I think it was a mistake to let him go.

Dion Sims got overpaid..

Bears signed TE Dion Sims, formerly of the Dolphins, to a three-year, $18 million contract.
He got $10 million guaranteed. It's a ton of money for a blocking tight end who was forced into a pass-catching role for the Dolphins last season. Sims has sure hands, but is not a playmaker. He's averaged a well-below-average 9.4 yards on his 74 career grabs. He'll be second in line for targets behind Zach Miller.

That's alot more than Thomas. Let's just see how things play out and the wording "intense scrutiny" is a little too much for me for the 1st preseason game...by Schad IMO

I predict that kid Stringfellow is going to catch a 99 yard TD to win the game. I also predict the guy throwing it will be Fales.
