5 Minutes of Tannehill - Every Throw

i really liked the throw to wallace between the cb and safety, i even liked the endzone throw to wallace as well it was a throw only his wr can get, what i didnt like at all was the throw to clay which almost got picked off . we will see what happens on friday i am anxious to see what he does vs the no.1's with basically to wr threat at all anymore.

Lots of throws to his first read and a few to his second. I did not see any throws to the third. That can be good though, he is getting rid of the ball quickly and completing passes. I speak for almost everyone when I say we need to see him with the ones, and against the ones. Overall I found myself impressed and for the first time in a long time I am optmistic.

Looks good. Gives hope.

Say, do you guys see him starting if he has a solid outing next game, even if the performance difference between Moore is marginal?

Does Tannehill have a STARE DOWN problem? It seems that the direction he looks is where he throws!

Going to be honest I've rarely seen Tannehill look that polished in college. I think he got better.

as ive said before, you cant take college and that translates what happens in pros. Every one else is learning new offenses, coaches, systems, ect.

This kid is not. When your in the room teaching everyone else, you become the natural leader. All he has to do is work hard and hit open receivers in bread baskets.

I dont think in this system it matters much because what is suppose to happen for the most part is a read of the defense where the receiver hits the hole. RT is looking for that quick shot of the guy who should be open. Other plays it developes a little, but yeah he is staring at his hot read, like the TD to Clay the other night.

on his first drive did tampa still have starters in?

I don't think so. There were only 3 minutes left in the half and they had a commanding 14-0 lead.

All of the tackles from the gamelog on that drive are 2nd year players for the Bucs. Didn't see any starters names.

So pretty sure it was against TB's twos.

And this was in some crappy weather too

That's something that doesn't get brought up but yes absolutely. I was there in the stands. It was wet the whole time though not raining the whole time. I mean Peyton Manning tried throwing a wet ball in his game, and it didn't end up coming out very well, which is how he threw that interception. Ryan Tannehill's throws looked dry even though they were wet.

No I don't believe so.

Hmmm...I understand your explanation. But wouldn't eye/head manipulation of the defense allow or at least give his receiving option more of an opportunity to make a play? In addition, cut down on possible turn-overs?

For example on the Gaiter near Interception it seemed like he really caught the attention of the defender(Gaiter) because he was STARING at Clay "real intently" on that route. I'm curious as CK alluded too if he can pull-the-ball down if it's not there? On that bad play from the beginning he seemed compelled(Exorcist-like) to make that throw.

Two bad throws in the video that I saw:

1) the pass near the endzone that was almost a pick six, should have been a pick six by the corner and should not have been thrown but as Slimm points out in a prior post that play was flawed by lack of options to that side of the filed there was no back corner option at all in that play.

2) The touch pass in the flat would have gained several yards had the throw not floated on Ryan.

There were some damn pretty throws to some good locations in that video. There is such a thing as throwing the receiver open and there were several plays where Ryan put the ball in a damn nice spot. I'm excited about the QB position again.

It looks to me that Tannehill really likes to throw the ball downfield and there were so many bad play calls in that video where he had his receivers running short routes that just lead to no where.
