5 preseason games insted of 4 good or bad

I think with the new coaching staff and possabilities of a few rookies starting I believe it is a good thing that we have five preseasons, because of the hall of fame game. As long as Saban limits playing time for the vets they shouldn't be on the field any longer then they would have been in a regular preseaon, but the young guys will get a ton more rep then they would have.

I don't like the risk of injury. Actually, i fully expect to see all of the first team and maybe second team sit out for a whole preseason game.

i dont think 5 preseason games are necessary. 3 preseason games is enough.

1 more game to try to get out unscathed although starters will not play more than a series or 2 in the opener.

The extra preseason game is good if we can avoid serious injuries. Extra game to evaluate ALL of the talent on our team. Extra game for us to watch. :cooldude:

for a team like this one, in transition and trying to learn both new offensive and defensive schemes while remaining competitive, its a good idea to have the 5 games... most of the camp fodder will take the extra playing time.... Saban will not put our key guys at risk...

Because it's a meaningless game as far as the seasons record goes. Getting a starter hurt in a meaningless game is just that, meaningless. I'd love to see the starters too. But, if someone has to get hurt you'd like to see it be in a game that mattered. Not a glorified practice game.

I still don't get why we don't lose 2 preseason games and make it an 18 game schedule. It would be the best of both worlds.

With that said, I will be glued to the tv for all the preseason games. Meaningless or not.
