5 Reasons Why Miami Will Not Win the AFC East

This guy is a huge pats homer and he has facts wrong. Tannehill yet to win 8 games? He won 8 games last year fool

I'd go with Brady, Belichick, injuries, O-line, and the secondary on why Miami may not win the East

Oh how very SWEET it would be if we over- achieve this season and earn the division championship. (One game at a time boys.) Anything is possible for those whom want it more than the rest.

Five reason why the Dolphins will win the AFC East:

1. Miami won 10 games last year while learning a new Offense... missing one of their best Defensive players (Jones) to injury...having just one man on LB squad they could count on...no true passing threat at TE...starting season with two guards that could not be counted on... losing their center, a revolving door of who is starting at corner this week...a HC that was feeling his way through his new position. All this things will not be present when Miami starts in 2017.

2. Miami did not know what they had with Ajayi until a few games in the 2nd quarter of the season, this year they will have more plays, and better ways to use what seems like one of the best power backs in the NFL.

3. Tom Brady is one of the best/smartest QBs in history, but he does have a problem against pressure defenses, and if Harris is even close to the pass-rusher he is being portrayed from the draft, Miami will have pressure from the middle, ends, and even LB, Safties, and Corners can effectively Blitz on those extremely rare occasions. Also Though Brady still looks good, he is on the wrong side of 40, and time always wins.

4. Gase has shown to be one of the best young brilliant new HC, and has the respect of his team. They are always prepared, actually make adjustments at halftime when something is not working, and his team no longer is the team of undisciplined individuals that started the season last year, but a confident (but not ****y) team united as one, with a very aggressive style on offense as well as defense that refuse to lose or quit until the final second has ticked off.

5. Like him or not, Ryan Tannehill when given time is a very effective QB, and before he got hurt last year, was coming on in a huge way. Though the staff did not go crazy trying to fix the O-line with expensive players, they did get some (At worse) solid players, and if the line is able to at least give Ryan average time to get rid of the ball, with the receiving weapons Miami will have, and a premium RB that can explode for hard yardage with just a little room. This is an offense that has the potential of being special.

But the 5 real reasons?

1. Bill Belichick
2. Tom Brady
3. See point 1
4. See point 1
5. See point 1

The last time we won the division (2008), Tom Brady ended up on IR after throwing only 11 passes and our only casualties on the season were....

WR Greg Camarillo
G Donald Thomas
G Matt McChesney
CB Michael Lehan

One of the healthiest teams in the league that year.

Last season we won 10 games after losing these starters.....

Mike Pouncey -11 games
Ryan Tannehill -3 games
Arian Foster -12 games
Jordan Cameron -13 games
Branden Albert -4 games

Reshad Jones -10 games
IAQ -2 games
Earl Mitchell -7 games
Jelani Jenkins -7 games
Koa Misi - 13 games
Xavien Howard -9 games
Byron Maxwell -3 games

We may as well have lost Mario Williams and Jason Jones as they were useless.

That's half the starters on EACH side of the ball. There is no reason we cannot compete this year for the AFC East but a key component will be staying healthy FOR ONCE. That was 12 KEY players missing 94 starts out of a possible 352 or 27% of the starts (not including the games they were injured in)....basically equates to 4 games of the season playing only backups or the backups, backups.

The average number of players that end up on IR is around 10%. That averages out to about 5 players per team if you just include the 53 man roster. If we can stay at or around that average, anything is possible. Limiting that number to 4 like we did in 2008 would be a coup.

We have much better depth this year compared to last so it shouldn't hurt as much.

(sorry if my math is off a bit)

This guy is a huge pats homer and he has facts wrong. Tannehill yet to win 8 games? He won 8 games last year fool

Technically he did not win 8. Moore was in in the 8th game against AZ and led them to the winning field goal. Tannehill did give him a big lead to play with, but technically...he did not win that game.

^^^ well stated health has been a huge factor in our ongoing problems with various units, we are due for some luck and maybe have some better contingency plans in place too.

This article has been and will be written every year until we win the East again....

... do we really need numbers 2 through 5?
