Not sure if Darby and Owa are still underrated? Months ago they were along with David Johnson, but I pulled him off that list after combine and senior bowl.

I never understood why they downgraded Harrison. The only thing I could find is that some scout said that he loves basketball more than football. I guess they think he will not try once he gets his contract.:ponder:

What don't ya like About Shelton? I've seen a lot of people call him overrated, I don't see it, I feel like people are expecting to much from a guy his size, he's never going to get a ton of sacks, that's not what he's there for.

And I'll have to check out more Carl Davis tape, you seem to be really high on him.

I have no idea, I haven't heard much of anything About him, but he really stood out on A&Ms line when I was watching Ogbuehi who I really like too. And when Ogbuehi went down he looked decent filling in LT too, although I'd want him as a guard.

It's not that I don't like him. It's that I don't think his skill set is worth a 1st round pick. I think he's a 2-down NT. For me, that's a 2nd round pick. Have to impact the passing game as a 1st round pick (for me).

Carl Davis played better against double teams than any other D-lineman that I saw in 2014. He didn't have Shelton's stats, but I think he more overall impact, and his explosion and speed translate to a more disruptive player at the next level. Suh is one of his athletic comps; he has very long arms and huge hands. One of the few D-lineman that look great in any scheme - has the physical tools to play and excel at the 1, 3, and 5. 3-down player who is much more disruptive in the passing game than his statistics indicate. He played the 1 at Iowa and took on a lot of double teams, but that didn't stop him from wrecking plays on a consistent basis. He didn't finish a lot of plays himself, but I don't think there's a DT in this class that made more plays for his teammates than Davis.

I get your point of view here and you make a lot of good pointsmthat I agree with.

But IMO, it's going to be a whole new world for him if he lines up next to Suh. IMO he Would def be a 3 down lineman, especially consistently being 1 on 1. I believe he played more downs than any other DT or NT last year.

I would def bet that wore on him, especially with the double teams. Next to Suh he shouldn't have that problem often. I also think he could help take a lot of the wear and tear off Suh with his run stopping.

I really think being a complimentary player will make a world of difference for him. He was asked to do a lot at WSH.

I think Coates could compare to Torrey Smith in time. He's not going to blow you away with his routes and he might miss a few passes here and there, but he can stretch a defense and might 10-15 big plays per season.

I do feel talent wise Carl Davis is underrated, but he's brought a lot of negative attention to himself for not being a hard worker.

I keep hearing this, Chambers, but I haven't seen it substantiated, and I've seen most of it attributed him him coming off lazy in interviews at the Senior Bowl. I've said it before, but I don't put too much weight into someone coming off lazy in an interview. Watching him talk (laid back guy), you can see how he'd come off that way.

One moment inside a darkened room at Iowa's football complex, Davis thinks like a poker player perched along a final table in Las Vegas. Another moment, the senior defensive tackle calculates angles and energy transfer like a physics professor.

Davis plots the math of blockers against potential tacklers and two- versus three-point stances. His eyes dance, trained to the point of instinct, as Davis and his multiple personalities survey a flood of information all but invisible to the untrained.

“Carl is just a really positive,” Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz said. “He’s a good young man, so we’re really happy he’s on our football team.”

I obviously disagree with Marpet lol. I think he's underrated, but I think you're spot on Chickillo.
