How many people here really wanted to get Manning here at that price? Flynn's contract would have been easier to swallow, but I see people saying it was too much for an unproven player. So if Miami had another GM how would you have liked to see them resolve Miami's qb issues this off season?

If money was the issue... you cut, restructure and dont resign whoever you need to in order to get peyton manning. as it turns out, we didnt have to worry... peyton knew what our organization looked like, and stayed as far away as possible

Do you really think Manning is going to lead Denver to 2 or 3 Super Bowls?

Who knows? I can tell you that they are at least in the conversation for 1.. something we haven't sniffed in quite some time. That's an organization who is aggressively making moves to get themselves in position to at least compete for one. We on the other hand are chasing our tails in circles...4 years and we still have the same needs. And are still at the bottom of the AFC east. The only chance Miami has of even seeing a superbowl in the near future is if we host the game... and even that is getting slimmer

Yeah...he only has 1 superbowl not played in a year and coming off of a gazillion neck surgeries..I think Denver is taking a legendary risk and could look horrible if this doesn't pan out...

70% of the people here think Manning is going to win them a Superbowl next year. I laugh at their overconfidence. Their defense is about as bad as the Patriots and without a complete team you don't win a ring.

I think that was way too much for someone that probably wont play all five years and may not even be healthy enough to REALLY play at all. I know he has thrown the ball okay but thats very different from dealing with a real NFL game. I wasnt 100% about having Peyton down here all along and at the price, Im glad we didnt.

Way too much for a Superbowl ring! Or two. Or three...

Put down the crack pipe and step away from the edge. I agree some of the off season moves have been head scratchers but really 2 or 3 super bowls in 5 years hahahaha he won 1 in 14 years... Now in Denver, they still need to build that team up more and have used a huge cap amount on one potentially hurt guy come on if we did that the world would end...

Peyton Manning: 12 years in the league and 1 Super Bowl ring.

Yes, because he's got such great odds of winning a Super Bowl at 36 coming off of 4 neck surgeries with nerve damage in the 2 years he's got left.

Could he do it? Yeah. But is it LIKELY? No. Tom Brady is the best quarterback in the NFL, when was his last Super Bowl win?

its a 1 year 18 million dollar deal that only becomes more if he stays healthy and plays

if manning hurts his neck they can easily release him after 2012 with no cap hit and even after the extra 20 million dollar bonus kicks in after 2012 they still have outs every year in the deal

money and injury protection was never an issue where he was going to go

it's crazy how peyton's new contract makes him the highest paid player in the nfl COMING OFF AN INJURY!

Ridiculous amount of Money, This can blow up all over Elway's face. I don't think the Broncos are any closer to winning a Superbowl. They will have to go through San Fran, Green Bay, New England and even the Saint with Brees would be ahead of them.

Broncos minus Tebow----- better chance of winning a SB
Broncos plus Manning ------ better chance of winning a SB
Broncos plus Manning... Minus Tebow.... with injury clauses in every year of the contract-------- CLOSER to winning a superbowl
