5 years - $96 million!!!!

For a Super Bowl, Yes. Anything less, No. So probably NO

There is some major denial going on if fans don't believe the Dolphins are Superbowl contenders with Peyton Manning at quarterback. The God awful Colts were division winners with Manning, and now what are they? A very fortunate 2 win team. But Manning can't take a 6-10 Dolphins team, with the 6th ranked scoring defense, and a 1000 yard rusher deep into the playoffs? Don't get me wrong, our roster isn't strong, but Peyton Manning is Peyton Manning, and when he's healthy, you've got 3-4 years of contention.

Only time will tell if this is a bad signing, but unless he gets hurt, it's a good time to be a Broncos fan.

Who is P. Manning going to throw the ball too?????? Do they have any receivers that really worry anyone? NOPE. They still have huge holes on defense.

the dolphins with peyton manning at best would be fighting with a superior jets team for 2nd place in the division

there is a reason he blew the dolphins off as has every other person they have courted

Ridiculous amount of Money, This can blow up all over Elway's face. I don't think the Broncos are any closer to winning a Superbowl. They will have to go through San Fran, Green Bay, New England and even the Saint with Brees would be ahead of them.

Actually this was a fantastic move by Elway. The only quarterback he could have brought in that would allow him to get Tebow out of town without a huge uproar was Peyton Manning. This was a huge long-term move by the Broncos. They just offloaded a huge problem and if Manning can get healthy and stay healthy they got a great quarterback.

Broncos still have cap room to sign players. That team was sitting on a huge pile of unspent cash.

 a superior Jets team that has a losing record versus the Dolphins over the last few years? That Jets team? The one that got whipped at the end of the year, with playoff hopes on the line? Or the superior Jets team that got whipped at "Jet-Life" stadium by big brother Eil? I shouldn't talk though, 3 imaginary Superbowls and counting.

its a 1 year 18 million dollar deal that only becomes more if he stays healthy and plays

if manning hurts his neck they can easily release him after 2012 with no cap hit and even after the extra 20 million dollar bonus kicks in after 2012 they still have outs every year in the deal

money and injury protection was never an issue where he was going to go

I don't know much about the salary cap so without taking into consideration any bonuses, does that mean there's an 18 million dollar cap hit for this year for Denver?

This has nothing to do with the superior Jets. Let's try and keep them out of it before this thread spirals out of control.

the same reason he wouldn't even return Woodie Johnson's phone call?

so now we are arguing over who got rejected faster?

he didnt wanna play in either city

Peyton Manning knows that if you have the QB then your receivers are good enough, and if you don't then they never are

Wish someone could tell our GM

They got DeMaryius Thomas, but he always gets busted up. They have issues on their o-line so they better get some upgrades there. They play in a pretty easy division, but they have a brutal schedule. I see them going 10-6 at best, and not going far in the playoffs.

If money was the issue... you cut, restructure and dont resign whoever you need to in order to get peyton manning. as it turns out, we didnt have to worry... peyton knew what our organization looked like, and stayed as far away as possible
He signed with the team that had the most cap space...$40 million. If you didn't see that coming I don't know what to tell you. If he wanted to win championships San Francisco would have been the clear choice.

If he can win that division 4-out-5 times, it may pay off. Time will only tell.

It's a huge price tag though.

d-1
