50/50 Ronnie/Ricky?

I'm in no rush to get Ronnie out there by week 1.
I'm pretty sure Ricky remembers how to tote the rock!

Parmele Will Get Several Carries This Season Just Wait And See! He Is A Rockem Sockem Running Back And Will Impress!!

I'm thinking more along the lines of 60/40 would be good in favor of Ronnie.

My expectations of Ronnie Brown aren't nearly as high as most. I don't see Brown getting back to that elite level he was at last year until late in the season at best. As for Ricky who the hell knows what we will get out of him. He could piss out somewhere along the line or get injured like last year. Personally I wanted to take a running back in this draft for those very reasons.( I got slammed for it.) Now we have some depth. Before the draft the depth that everyone raved about was an illusion. Now we have added a power runner who can come in and play.

I expect to see a lot of Jalen Parmele this upcoming season.

Ronnie Brown will not return to his form until AT LEAST mid-season. It's not just running and cutting that Ronnie needs to rehab; it's his burst.

Many are forgetting the whole Culpepper saga. Culpepper was recovering well enough to play and start. As training camp neared, the excitement was building. As he practiced, the anticipation grew. As Week 1 approached, people stopped worrying about him starting.

Then came Pittsburgh. And we soon saw the REALITY of his rehab. Sure, he could walk and run. But, he wasn't mobile and lack the burst that had made him a running threat. Daunte truly hasn't returned to his pre-injury form even now, 2 years removed. Sure, Daunte shredded his entire knee and Ronnie's wasn't as serious. But, one thing remains; this will take serious rehab.

Ronnie may return to the field this year, but he won't be the same RB until Week 8 or 9 of next year... if ever.

Ricky Williams is our feature back this year. Ronnie will be used for goal line, short yardage and possibly 3rd downs. But, Ricky is the home run threat. Ricky will be counted on more to carry the load.

We will be a committee, no doubt. But, Ricky will be the one counted on most.

That statement is terrifying! :err:

Realistically there are several reasons why I would love to see Williams/Parmale or any other back share time with Brown.

1) Ronnie needs time to heal totally from last years injury. No back is 100% after surgery the first year no matter what the scouting reports say
2) Running by committee or two back sets work well with today’s faster D’s. You pound out the middle and then let a cut back runner come in and all hell breaks loose on the D. It is a mind set attack attack attack Uh-oh that guy just cut back on me and I am now out of position. Bye Bye.
3) If you remember when Brown was drafted the concern was with wear and tear and could he ever be featured as a one back runner. Cadillac and Ronnie worked well in Auburn and it seems Ronnie could benefit from a second load carrier.

How cool would 2 one thousand yard rushers be when for so many years we couldn’t even get one!!!
