I just wanted to get everyone's opinion on something here. The Dolphins had relatively easy first half of the season. The opposing teams we've played thus far that we've lost against all have losing records with the exception of the Jets who are only at .500 as you know and of course the Patriots. This outcome has turned into an anomaly with the fact we beat the Bears now. My point is that the teams that we've lost against are not better than us and it frustrates me only because we can beat teams like the Bears but still only have a 2-6 record going into week 9! We should be better than this record that does not exemplify the type of team we have. Our team is better than this record. We could of easily been 6-2 at this point. Sorry for griping but I'm sure I speak for many when I say its frustrating knowing that making the playoffs this season is a far stretch.

(Title of the thread should be .500 or under: Teams Lost Against)

i know this will sound rediculous but i think that if we had the hardest schedule in the nfl and played the best teams every week...we would have a better record.

you're exactly right, we have played to the level of our competition for the last few years.

We are in every game we play.....just a little more effort and a few breaks and we could be 6-2.

Teams that go far BEAT the teams they are supposed to. Miami usually does the opposite...loses against lesser talent and rise to the occasion against the tougher foes. Until we get some consistent balance, 8-8 is what you get. This year 8-8 will be almost a miracle.

excuses and BS

no team with a bad record gets blown out the water every week. Unless you get the W, its a loss.

Look at Pittsburgh, same record as us yet won SB last year. Did the few player losses REALLY make them such a bad team? I don't think so, I feel it demonstrates how close you can be yet how bad you can look. I think if you look at us we're a lot like them, we have a lot of talent and (I think) pretty good coaching, but we're 2-6 like them. Just as they won SB with MOSTLY the same players, we COULD turn it around and play lights out with our talent level.

they won the superbowl not as much motivation this year

motivation thats the key word. its what our team lacks. Im not closing the door on saban yet, but he needs to motivate these guys, keep them disciplined and, propper execution of the basics, all of which are coaching issues and what I see our team is lacking.
