I'd add Cedric Thompson and one of the rookie MLB's (with Misi not fully fit). . . . take away the 4th TE and CJ Mosley (McCain will serve as the 9th DL in some packages)

Will Davis and Christion Jones are replaceable with others but I expect 6 CBs (yes 11 DBs are a lot . . . but they all play specials) and 6 WRs.

Sam Brenner could beat somebody out (Walton maybe?) . . . but 9 OL seems right.

I think there's a solid chance that Mosley and Lynch are replaced as well. Just going off the current roster, but I could see 4 TE's and 9 DL.

Now keep in mind we'll probably waive guys and make cuts, but here's why I picked some of the moves I made.

Michael Preston has made it really hard not to go with him at this point. Has to show it in the preseason now

I think 3rd TE may be a waiver wire pickup and you see a late cut. Really nobody after the top 2 has really impressed to take a spot right now.

You need some ST guys, so Paysinger and Kovacs are takes. Sounds like Thompson,Vigil, and Hull are moving into ST guys

My inactives would be:

Michael Preston (my 6th WR), Tony Lippet, 2 of the 9 OL, Jay Ajayi, 7th LB and whoever has the lingering injury for the week.

Good list.

Tough challenge without seeing some of them ever play a snap. That's where depth charts come in

I mean all we can go off of is what we know from camp, and there are guys that have really surprised. That's all you can ask.

Biggest thing to look at is whose getting ST reps. Hell Vigil and Hull aren't just getting ST reps but have been getting 2nd team reps. Hull has even gotten the occasional first team snap (and the staff supposedly loves Vigil).

Here's a good question, what young guys have made themselves almost uncuttable (so far) and whose made it closer than you thought in terms of looking at making the roster? Michael Preston would be one, and while I think we all like the young guys I think many are surprised at how Bobby McCain has handled himself

Yea I went with Zack Bowman over Jordan Kovacs (and Will Davis) for the 11th DB spot . . . 6 safeties seem like a lot and Bowman was the best special teamer on the Giants last year. He's quietly had a nice camp.

Other than that, the only difference is me having a 3rd TE and only 7 LBs.

Of course this is just all in fun . . . expect sombody to step up who we aren't expecting and probably earn a spot. Maybe it's the Mclendon kid at guard.

I hope Franks can make it over Sturgis.... no McClendon on the OL? Agree about Preston and the TE situation. MBT practice squad maybe? Going to have some tough cuts at DL and CB if everyone stays healthy. Guess Mosley can't find a spot maybe they keep him over Johnson buts that's a tough call age over youth like that. Also agree that Will Davis seems to be the odd man out, not sure about Kovacs, maybe keep one more CB over him. I assume the only reason you have Kovacs making it is special teams.

Tannenbombs - My immediate reaction is that you need to add a linebacker like Vigil and drop a tight end like Robinson.
Also I'd be surprised if Christion Jones makes the roster - but he's worth considering on the practice squad.

yeah with Bowman/Kovacs is a crap shoot I went with sentiment with Kovacs. and yeah McClendon is making things interesting as it sounds like he's doing well. I give Walton a nod right now because he's had a solid camp and he can play center. if McClenndon can show he can take snaps maybe that changes

I considered a 3rd TE and think we'll get one, but I jsut don't know who to put there right now. I think you may see us take one and try to sneak one of Hull or Vigil onto the PS.

No chance they keep Mosley over Anthony Johnson, unless Johnson completely falls off but I expect him to dominate against 2nd and 3rd stringers this preseason. Hell I'm pretty confident the top 8 on the DL is set . . . biggest question is will there be a room for a 9th guy (Mosley? Francis?). Starting to think Dion Jordan lucked out getting suspended . . . he would be fighting for his life on this DLine.

Preston, McCain, Fede if you count him as young- and Thompson on the borderline...

yeah McClendon is gonna make it interesting, but he has to show he can take snaps. if he does well taking snaps, he makes it over Walton.

And yeah, ST is important and Kovacs is damn good. But it'll probably come down to him or Bowman unless Aikens and Thompson really suck in preseason.

Johnson is another guy who has just came in and balled this camp. Huge talent that fell due to medical and work ethic, but much like Phillips he puts the work in he's gonna be a good one.

Reason I go with Franks is that he's been healthy and seems to have gotten better as camp goes.

Remember all that talk about how we needed another veteran on the D-Line? that's alot of youth there without Mosley and he has Suh in his corner. (trying to play devil's advocate Kdwag).
