Go G-Men!
Any chance the refs will take any heat for that? I realize their human and make mistakes, but that was a big one! I'm just glad it didn't effect the outcome of the game.
It did effect the outcome. Didn't they fumble and we recovered? They might have gotten a field goal.FemaleFinFan said:Any chance the refs will take any heat for that? I realize their human and make mistakes, but that was a big one! I'm just glad it didn't effect the outcome of the game.
Desides said:It wasn't a "fifth" down, it was a fourth down that was still marked as a third down on the field.
ItsOurTime32 said:i think there was confusion because the ref said the illegal forward pass was a loss of down and it was really a 5 yard penalty repeat of down
SigmaOmega said:What the announcers said afterwards were the judges ruled on the field that since the illegal act was committed behind the line of scrimmage, the loss of down is not applicable, and if the the penalty was committed after the line of scrimmage the penalty that was mistakenly called in the official's booth upstairs would of taken effect. Now, the announcers were missing names and screwing up sentences left and right and I wasnt quite sure if we got jipped or not, but I am gonna research that rule.
