#Dolphins final mini-camp practice about to get going

Armando Salguero ‏@ArmandoSalguero 4h4 hours ago
Kenyan Drake, who left practice with an apparent hamstring injury yesterday, is sitting out today's practice. He signed his deal though.

Adam Beasley ‏@AdamHBeasley 3h3 hours ago
Not at practice today: Jarvis Landry, Mario Williams, Jason Jones.

Adam Beasley ‏@AdamHBeasley 3h3 hours ago
Not practicing: Drake, AJ Cruz, Hewitt.

Dallas Thomas remains the starting LG today.

Adam Beasley ‏@AdamHBeasley 3h3 hours ago
Tunsil getting work at left tackle, Thomas at left guard today.

James Walker ‏@JamesWalkerNFL 3h3 hours ago
With #Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry not present today, backup Griff Whalen is getting more of a look with the starters in three-wide sets.

Adam Beasley ‏@AdamHBeasley 3h3 hours ago
Cam Wake isn't doing everything today. Not in with the starters in team.

James Walker ‏@JamesWalkerNFL 3h3 hours ago
#Dolphins first rounder Laremy Tunsil is showing good athleticism getting to open field on screens. He moves fluid downfield for his size.

Alain Poupart ‏@apoupartFins 3h3 hours ago
Andrew Franks just attempted 64-yard field goal. Long enough but wide.

James Walker ‏@JamesWalkerNFL 3h3 hours ago
#Dolphins first-round pick Laremy Tunsil got beat at LT for a sack after hesitating and being late on his assignment.

James Walker ‏@JamesWalkerNFL 3h3 hours ago
Good route by #Dolphins WR DeVante Parker to get off the line and beat CB Byron Maxwell for a first down.

Day 3 of #Dolphins minicamp is in the books. The players will get an approximate five-week break for the summer before training camp.

Dolphins OL Laremy Tunsil said he plans to go back to Ole Miss during the summer break... http://es.pn/1UbdGSk

Adam Beasley ‏@AdamHBeasley 2h2 hours ago
Gase said Doughty has "made a lot of strides since he's been here. ... He seems to find completions."

Armando Salguero ‏@ArmandoSalguero 2h2 hours ago
Gase says Doughty can find guys open even when he's supposed to be throwing elsewhere.

Armando Salguero ‏@ArmandoSalguero 2h2 hours ago
Adam Gase on his team now: "I feel good about how it looks to us on tape."

Adam Beasley ‏@AdamHBeasley 2h2 hours ago
Gase said the players didn't mail it in on their last day of practice till camp. "I like what I see on tape."

Armando Salguero ‏@ArmandoSalguero 2h2 hours ago
Adam Gase on Laremy Tunsil: "He's got a lot of room to get better."

Armando Salguero ‏@ArmandoSalguero 2h2 hours ago
Adam Gase says Kenyan Drake will be ready to go for camp.

James Walker ‏@JamesWalkerNFL 2h2 hours ago
#Dolphins HC Adam Gase said RB Kenyan Drake (right leg) will be ready for training camp and Jarvis Landry was excused for personal reasons.

Armando Salguero ‏@ArmandoSalguero 2h2 hours ago
Adam Gase message to team before they leave: "Be smart." Have to realize who they are and what they represent.

Andrew Abramson ‏@AbramsonPBP 2h2 hours ago
Gase on what's he's learned lately: There's more leadership in Dolphins locker room than people give them credit for

Dolphins minicamp over...Where the training camp competition looms:

The Miami Dolphins have reached the end of their three-day minicamp and so the players and coaches are off for the next five weeks or so.

What does that mean?

Coach Adam Gase's message to the players before they go is "be smart."

That means stay in the playbook. Don't allow yourself to get sloppy physically. And this:

Just reading between the lines on Tunsil . . . all reports have him as very athletic, very quick, very 'fluid.'' Spot reports have him stronger than he looks. Sounds like his biggest challenge is technique and picking up stunts/blitzes. That's coachable. That sounds like Thomas is a backup . . . if he sticks.

Gase says Doughty can find guys open even when he's supposed to be throwing elsewhere.

And THIS is what the greats are able to do, marino being the poster child for just "throwing to whoever is open". This is one of the most important things that seperates decent/good qb's from the realy good to greats. The other two being reading an nfl defense fast at the snap and quick release.

Maybe, and i say MAYBE......., we finally stumbled into a late round jewel. Its time our luck changed. We shall see. Pads will tellmore and pre season games but, being able to spot the open man in any situation is a very good sign of a quality qb.

Sorry, but i still will be damned suprised if tunsil isnt the lt on opening day. Our division is just too stocked up with fast, athletic pass rushers and tunsil is MUCH more equiped to match up. I think in the end, tunsil will be the lt and albert will be at lg, where he is experienced and frankly, belongs there at this point in his career.

I have never believed the RUMOURS about him playing guard was set in stone. Untill i see gase say LAREMY TUNSIL WILL PLAY LEFT GUARD FOR THE 2016 SEASON, i am not buying it. Unless he struggles through camp, i dont see him at guard. His abilities are just to good, especially facing the athletic pass rushers we will see to languish at guard. That would just be rediculous.

You say Albert is experienced at guard, but the last time he played there . . . Tunsil wasn't even in high school.

I don't disagree about him naturally being a better fit at LT and ultimately he has more raw talent than Branden Albert . . . But we need the best option in 2016 to man LT . . . .and my money is on Branden Albert, a healthy Branden Albert, being that guy. That guy was damn good last season coming back from that knee injury. Scary to think that he is arguably in the best shape of his career right now a year plus away from injury. He has the experience that Tunsil does not . . . To dismiss him like he is just "another guy" is a mistake.

I still have Tunsil starting at LG week 1.

So next time we get practice tweets, it will be preseason, awesome!

For the first time this year, i'm rather enjoying Formula 1 and GT3 racing on the weekends, makes waiting for football just a bit easier.

Ok so seeing that Tunsil is working at LT now means to me that he is going to start at LG but they need to get him reps as backup LT. That makes way more sense than DT just outplaying Tunsil so far. Phew.

Going to be a quiet few weeks football wise....well actually lets 'hope" it is -as far as Dolphins players etc are concerned..

Found this interesting. Clipped from the link below. "Head Coach Adam Gase said Tunsil has room to improve, pointing specifically to the need to adjust to the speed of the game in the NFL. For his part, Tunsil said things went pretty well but add, “I've still got to get better with a lot of things. Get in that playbook, learn those plays. It’s been a good minicamp, but I still got to get better in a lot of different ways.” http://www.miamidolphins.com/news/a...er-Notes/a28bfdf2-a755-4d41-b648-e1694394d3d1 Sounds like the two biggest hurdles are learning the playbook and NFL speed. Typical rookie work. If true, LG is just about locked in.
