Ah, the case for six wide receivers. Marshall/Hartline/Bess/Gates/Wallace/Moore

These guys are all very young. Marshall is an obvious beast we don't need to talk about him. Hartline runs good routes and seems to get open pretty frequently. Bess is one of the better slot recievers in the game. Gates looks like a very promising deep threat. He gets open a lot but it doesn't look like he and Henne are comfortable with each other yet but the sky is the limit. Wallace plays a lot of special teams and has the size and speed of Marshall. He is multifaceted and he offers a potentially high upside. Sure Marlon Moore dropped that bomb last week but he looks like a pretty fast receiver who can make some decent plays for us. This guy is fighting for a roster spot. Livas is going to have to get downgraded to the roster spot. I can't imagine having to cut down to 5 Wrs. By doing this, we are cutting a high upsided, young player who we have time and money already invested in. We have to keep 6.

I think we keep 6 also. But how about DB? Would you keep 6 there? You either keep 6 WR or 6 DB, depending on which 6th guy is a better ST player. So basically, pick 3 out of 4: Wallace, Moore, Caroll, W. Allen.

That is true thats what makes it soo tough! I am one to hate on Allen because he hasn't been on the field, but watching him blitzing he still looked pretty good. I like Caroll's potential. It's gonna be tough cutting all the way down.

That was a great catch by Moore coming across the middle and it probably saved his roster spot.

I think we get one more player on the roster this year and my vote is for a 6th reciever.

we have too many problems on oline to keep six receivers. Definately no need to keep wallace and moore esp since they wont play much

You think they won't play much? Lot of 3-5 WR sets in this offense. I think they have a much better chance to get on the field this season than they did last season, and though I hope no injuries happen, it's not likely that your top 4 receivers will stay healthy all 16 games.

We have one severe issue on the OL and will be in a lot of 3 and 4 WR sets. No way they release both Moore and Wallace. I am more inclined to think they keep both with Livas going to the PS.

Im pretty sure Bush will play in those sets as a receiver. We tend to overrate our fringe players way too much. 5 receivers with Bush is plenty .

one severe issue really. would that be columbo, would that be carey hell the only issue we dont have is Long. It will be Moore or wallace not both

Hartline fell over again making a catch. I was distracted just as the play unfolded so I didn't see the context (and there was no replay), but can I assume he just fell over his feet again?

I would love for us to trade him.

This is a good point, besids who would you rather see coming across the field open? Bush, Wallace or Moore?

Dont underrate Hartline, he is a solid #2.

to me, those last couple guys have a lot of upside and it would hurt to cut them. I like Moore's playmaking and Wallace has straight speed.

Allen is one of our best blitzers from the corner spot but he also got a PI called against him and he's one of the worst at getting penalized in the league.

I think if we don't play a 3rd QB in the last preseason game in all likelihood we'll be stashing Devlin on the practice squad, carrying two QBs on the 53 man roster and carrying 6 WRs. That would be my guess.
