I predict we'll be a running team (yeah I know, big prediction). But I predict we'll be a running team to the tune of a 60-40 margin in favor of run called plays. Even as a team that's predicted to win just 2 games according to whatifsports.com computer "simulation" results, I still see this ratio at the end of the year.

I see Miami establishing the run game to protect the QB's and passing attack and in the process instilling a season long "toughness" approach that well boad well for next season and beyond. The offense's strength is clearly in the run game and until the receiver talent is improved and a starting QB is established, we'll be a running team much of the season.......

WOW, training camp can't get here fast enough. Maybe then we'll have something that makes sense to talk about.

Hey Canuck I agree we will definately be a running team. Unless ofcourse Beck or Henne start to light it up and our Oline pass protects.

Id say 70-30 with 2 good backs and a third thats a bruiser we will be running a lot for sure at least for the most part of the beginning of the season. We might open up more as the season goes on and our qb situation becomes more clear and whoever starts becomes more comfortable.

The problem is if we run too much teams will stack the box and take the run away. I f no one respects the pass game we won't be able to run either!

70-30 when you're going to be down virtually everygame?

I think it will depend on the QB play. If one of the three QB's play well, I think you see the passing game increase. BP may not be the HC, but TS will run a BP's offense. One which is a passing offense if he has a QB that can throw the ball effectively. The only reason we will be a run heavy offense is if we have no one who's capable of throwing the ball.

I think we'll be closer to a balanced attack, but that is kinda misleading. We will come out and establish the rush until the opposing defense overcommits to stopping the run. Once they have 8 men in the box we will pass about half the time, but that passing will be much more successful because the coverage will be lessened and the fear of the run will slow down the pass rushers just enough to buy our QB some time. Draws will work, bombs will have a decent chance, our passing game will be opened up simply because our running attack is so hard to stop we're going to dictate schemes to the defenses. We'll definitely be a running team, but I think it will be more like 55% run and 45% pass. This is because if the opposing defenses don't stop our running game we'll run 80% of the time on them, score, control the clock, and exhaust their defense to the point they cannot stop us in the 4th quarter. So, defenses will stack against the run, giving us room to pass.

We have to see what we have at qb. Running it every play is not gonna get it done. We need to pass the ball too. How else we will be able to see what we have in a qb and develop him?
