its time for good ole maverick to enlighten you guys with my infinate wisedom.

now i am not sure what type of offense you guys are wanting to see but i have been thinking most of the games we have lost over the past 5 to 8 years has been due to a piss poor passing game and then having no running game in 04 due to weed hopper's suspension and due to having inadequet backup runningbacks. I say that coaching lost us 40 % of our games last year. this year we need to get our wide receivers to have like 100 to 200 yard games .

the ratio needs to be right at 60 % pass to run ratio so other teams dont put 100 players in the box . if the passing game improves like i want it to we could surprise some teams this year.
now i know that a great running game is crucial to our offense but i beleive that our lack of a passing game is why we have been medicore or a bad team lately.

of course i hope booker and mauia can contribute and help ole ronnie out some.

a 3 wr and 1 fulllback and 1 tight end set would be a good way to go or a two te and 1 wr and two rb set but we need a good passing game to get where we want to get to.

Key to all this is good OL play, have that and you can pass and run..that's the key to our success, the OLine.

Cam will run first and throw second. I think your stats are alittle off

I dont agree with this. Ronnie Brown will be the focal point of this offense, so I think we will run more than pass.

If you asked Cameron about the Chargers in 2006, he would tell you they called a pass about 60% to 40% runs. He's almost right (it's close) when you consider Phil Rivers' sacks and scrambles.

Ok Mav. This is Goose talking to ya. Tell tell the other team what plays you have in your play book and then before the snap let the D players know what you are going to do. Now here is what is really going to happen. They play calling will be at the other teams weakness be a player or what formation they are in. I will also be where we are as a team, controling the clock, health wise, and what the score is. It could be 80% running and 20% passing but those passes are for 50+ yards and TDs or the other way around. To say we are going to pass 3 to 2 all year long is kinda like people that fish for a living saying that they are going to use worms out of their yard to make their living. Cam and his staff will do what they feel is right on that Sunday. Do you want them passing up in New England, New York, or any were for that matter if it is raining, snowing, wind blowing 90 mph? Hell No we are not going to do that we are going to grind it out on the ground. Now if there is a mismatch of a 5'9" corner on a 6' 3" WR all night long are we going to use that like a hot woman using her body to get out of a speeding ticket. You better believe it. Move to the center of the couch and get off the arm of the chair.

Bingo! Even when we do pass, Ronnie will be a top priority. Everything is going to go through Ronnie this year, I could see 2000 total yards for him this year.

I think you have Cam all wrong. Being of the offensive lineage that he is, we will see the percentage closer to 60% run and 40% pass IF things are going well. And IF things are going well, that 40% of pass plays will account for more yardage than the run plays. That is how this offense works best...remember, even tho it's a vertical passing offense, it is a power run offense first...

I said IF up there because the success of Cam's offense will correlate directly to how well the OL plays. The key will to be able to run the ball when the defense thinks we will run the ball. 3rd and short, goal line, etc. IF we can run successfully then (as you know we haven't been able to since forever), teams will have to respect the run and that should open up the passing game.

As someone else already alluded to, if the OL does their part this year, we could be watching a very good offense unfold. But, one way or another, it'll be a fun offense for us fans to watch...

i dont see how you guys can just assume that Cam is going to run our offense differently then his previous ones........ His teams do pass the ball more often than not and thats one of the main reasons his running game is so successfull. We may not have Rivers and Gates but i think we have more than enough talent not to change Cams way of running an offense.

I'm for any ratio that scores points.

If you want to find out more on Cameron's tendancies, check out this link.

The link has been posted before by someone else but it is a great read if you have not seen it. It shows that Cam calls around 53% passing and 47% running plays so you are close. I think Cameron will keep following the way he has always done things because it has worked and there's no reason why it still would not work.
