Some interesting info another poster brought to my attention but without numbers. The opponents we lost to may have a winning percentage of 45%, but their opponents who they lost to have a winning percentage of 68%. So I dont think the opponents we faced so far are anything to scoff at. Here are the numbers for the opponents losses so far this season:

PIT - 15-9 for the opponents they lost to (62%)
BUF - 21-11 (66%)
HOU - 15-11 (58%)
NE - 5-1 (83%)
NYJ - 14-4 (77%)
GB - 19-6 (76%)

Thannk You,
GO FINS!

Houston, Buffalo and GB are something to scoff at. Look at their records! Nuff said!

You are overanalyzing... the teams we have faced are so poor and its so early in the season that all of their losses are obscuring the stats.

Swap the 4-5 losses each team has and insert them as wins in those stats and their opponents' records all of a sudden become pedestrian. You can't go to the second level of stats and get an accurate assessment, especially not this early in the season, The teams we have faced (and lost to) are losing teams... plain and simple. There are no excuses for it, just like there are no excuses for our losing. We have lost to the worst of the worst, so all that says about us is that we are the bottom of that category.

We pretty much suck.

Zero Sum Game.

Oh please, it's a limited universe. There are only 32 NFL teams. 7 games, 7 opponents, that's a quarter of the entire the league. Count 'em, us, and 7 other teams, that's 8 of 32, that's one quarter. Among the teams we have played are the 2 win Pack, the 2 win Bills, the 2 win Steelers, 2 win Texans, & 1 win Tennessee. The rest of the teams in the league ARE BETTER, of course the winning percentage of their opponents is higher, it has to be, we've played nearly every slug in the league. It's a ZERO SUM GAME. I hate it as much or more than anyone else but WE REALLY REALLY REALLY STINK.

How about this, trust your eyes of what you see on sundays....... we are just a bad team right now

Geez!!!

I dont think Miami should even suit up against the Bears next week. I mean after all, Miami does suck. They should trade both Ronnie Brown and Chambers for some 1st round draft picks, release Thomas, Taylor, and Traylor. They are too old to do anything. And Nick Saban, well i highly doubt this is just a sophomore jinx, they should get rid of him and see if somebody can actually coach this horrible franchise. Damn, 1-6, whats the sense of even playing the rest of the season?!

Hey look, it does sound as stupid when I write it.

LOL, this is great. Let's sit here and justify these six losses.. Unbelieveable.

This is amazing.

Now our excuses have gone beyond the normal "Well, at least we lost to good teams." excuses. We realize that the teams we lost to aren't good. Therefore we must justify their losses with the "Well, at least they lost to good teams." excuse and thereby deflecting any accountability from their lack of talent, and, by default, because their losses are acceptable that means they are better than it seems which makes it okay for us to lose to them because they arent as bad as everyone thinks.

If that hasnt got you confused, think of this. Arizona beat San Fran. San Fran beat St. Louis. St. Louis beat Arizona. Please tell me who is the best and how you can tell. (Hint: look at their records)

Also, Arizona almost beat Chicago who is undefeated, and lost to Oakland who was winless. Please tell me how this makes sense in the "winning % of your opponents you lost to" theory. (Hint: it doesnt make any sense, mostly because Arizona sucks)

Overall message: WE SUCK!!! WE ARE 1-6 and have lost to other equally horrible teams!!!! THERE IS NO SUGAR COATING THIS FACT!

You must be a bandwagon fan or a Bills fan. You are not allowed to be in touch with reality in order to be a Miami fan. You must be eternally happy about the teams performance.

The only wagon I'm on is the Dolfan for life wagon. And right now I'm handcuffed to that wagon and it is tumbling down a rocky cliff and is about one Chris Chambers injury away from hitting rock bottom. Not saying that any amount of injuries could make our team any less likely to win.

But the original poster has made a good point. The Colts barely beat the Titans. We barely beat the Titans. Therefore we are just as good as the Colts. Oh wait, I forgot to mention that the Colts played their worst game against the Titans, and we played our best. Well, at least we can misconstrue the facts to make it look like we're gonna win the Super Bowl!!!! GO DOLPHINS!!!

Imagine if we beat the Bears guys. Holy crap man, it'll be nothing but "Joey is our next Marino" and "Saban knew what he was doing" threads. Personally I just want a 2-14 record. I'll take the losses, just beat the Jets and the season will still have a moment we can smile about. Other than that, I could really do without all the rediculous comparisons to teams that are being compared to teams that make us look better by making them look better for losing. I'm still not sure if losing to teams that lose to everyone is a sign of talent or not, but I'm gonna take the original posters word for it that its a good thing.

Things to look for in the future:
1) Look for any teams that are good, and we will lose to them.
2) Look for teams that lose to good teams, and we will lose to them.
3) Look for the worst team in the league, and there will be a poster on this board that thinks he can make it look like they are awesome and we only lost to them because they suck at winning, and we will lose to them.
4) Look for someone who knows what they are talking about. I'm available.

Like it matters...we are still 1-6. BTW throwing out that teams have a 45% winning percentage that we lost to drops down to 34% when subtracting their victories against the Dolphins. If you are trying to pass off the teams we have lost to besides NE as being "good" teams this year you may want to check out your insurance to see if it covers psychiatric visits.
