The pick we traded for harrington is a conditional pick and saban mentioned that the pick is ours and could be used in the supplemental draft and then our pick would move to 2008. I think it would be great to get a guy in the supplemental draft, it would make the joey harrington trade even more of a steal as we wouldnt have to give up the pick til 08'. Now I would love to get a guy like ahmad brooks I really think he is a beast, but i dont really want to use our picks other then a 6th because if we use a 3rd or a 4th, we would already have spent 2 of our picks for the 07' draft and will already be strapped for picks this year in the year. But a guy that I think has a chance to be there in 6th round in the sup draft and will be beast is Jason Berryman from iowa state. He has already applied for the supp draft and has a pro day set early next month. This guy is the DE/LB tweener we have been looking for. He is an absolute STUD on the field and could really develope into special player, hes looked at as a top DE in 08'. I think there is no doubt we will put a 6th round offer at there for this guy, because it is basically giving up nothing, but if we get him it would be HUGE.

Really? How does that work? I've never heard of anything like that. :read:

I look for the transcript where it was mentioned... but he mentioned it a little after the trade for harrington was made.

Heres an excerpt from the miamiherald quoting saban.''It's a conditional pick until the season is over, but we have use of the pick,'' Saban said. Should the Dolphins use the 2007 draft pick in a supplemental draft, the conditional pick Detroit gets becomes a 2008 pick.

Please :help: !! Are you guys telling me we can use that 6 we gave to Detroit in the supp draft and then the 6th pick gets moved to 2008?

I guess so, I am just surprised as you. I have never heard of that.

Oh hell yea we will def be alot more agressive with the 6th rd pick b/c odds are that will be the pick we have to give up, but remember the condition of the pick is if joey plays half the snaps in the season than it escalades to a 5th, so if we use a 6th in the sup draft, we would still have to give up the 5th(although i dont see joey playing half the snaps its still a possibility), but with guys that are pretty talented in the sup draft there is no doubt in my mind we will give up the 6th for either brooks or berryman.(and hope one is still there)

If this turns out to be true Matt Millen has to be the biggest dunce(sp?) in football history. :dunce:

I just got hyped, Saban is the smartest guy!!!!! Wanny don't even want to think about what he would have done...:sidelol:

I live in IA and although I'm a hawks fan, I can verify this guy would be a steal in this situation.

The way I see it, I'd rather spend a 2nd on Brooks then have a 2nd next year. I doubt we could get him with a 3rd prividing he has a good workout as we're a middle-to-late pick.
