7/27 Training Camp updates

i don't even know what you call that technique except for pure fail...what a disaster that guy was last year...i'm holding out slim hopes he's a different guy this year but i'm prepared to be not impressed...i dont know how anyone coud watch that kids college tape though and think tackle that looked guard all the way to me...didn't matter where he lined up he was horrid in the preseason last year

i don't think billy turner will be that bad especially if he gets run at tackle but hes got to learn to play lower especially on the inside...and i get that...very raw technique but a better foot and move athlete than thomas...i get the feeling though we are trying to make a correct fit tackle a guard in turner...i see space athlete more than phone booth there...

think I've heard good things this offseason, but was before pads were on..

I think I would rather have turner over thomas and have the vet at the other guard. Damn this anticipation when is our first preseason game

Hard Knocks will be on in a week. It goes fast from there.

Starks is a beast tho.

so are many of the interior fronts we are gonna face this year...more beastly than starks even with buffalo and the jets and the lions to name a few...we can't afford to have interior dfronts wrecking us

lets hope we see less of this

It's all about where his feet are. Look how narrow his feet are and how close together after his initial kick step. It doesn't allow you to anchor.

Then look right beside him at #65 and how wide his base (feet) are. This allows you to power step with your inside foot and anchor... and neutralize the bull rush.

It doesn't matter what position you're playing along the offensive line if your base is too narrow. You're off balance no matter where you line up. In other words, it's not a tackle/guard issue. It's a technique flaw.

Well hopefully Dallas Thomas learned better technique from the sounds of minicamp he did

That and he was virtually vertical at the POA. Another lose-lose situation.
