7/30 Afternoon Session

We'll take anything we can get, eh CK?

Things sound slightly better so far on O... Good sign. Meetings and looking at tape did the guys well.

On a side note, Im not from Miami (but a frequent visitor), so I am not all that familiar with where the papers rank. But in terms of football, I am impressed with the PBP. I liked it when Darlington did it, and I still find they have the best coverage of TC. Consistent blog updates are quite impressive and very much appreciated by the fan base. I like the format so much more than just an overview of practice in article form - you really get an idea of who performed well and who didnt. I thought the Sentinel used to have practice blogs, but I havent seen them. Certainly not the play by play form that the PBP uses.

The Herald, IMO, has been horrible. Maybe its since Cole left, but I liked Darlington at the PBP so I doubt he is the problem. I find they show little commitment to improving the coverage. And Salguero's "blog" is a lot of fluff work. Just my opinion, sorry to go OT.

— RT Shelton and RG Hadnot continue to line up with the second team. Shelton’s man, Akbar Gbaja-Biamila, nearly picked off Lemon.

Sigh. These writers just wont quit.

I have watched almost every Detriot Lions game since about 1998 becuase there on every Sunday here in Detriot. Cory was one of the best passing targets for numerous Lions QBs. Not only did I rarely see him drop a pass, he was a key lead blocker especially for Kevin Jones. Believe me, Cory was one of the biggest FA pick-ups this Off-season. I just hope he doesnt get cut like Fred Beasley. I never really found out why we cut him. I know he was very good with the 49ers in his prime. Was he just not the same FB he once was when he was here in Miami?

I think Beasely was just done. Not sure if he's still in the league or not, but he didn't seem to be effective in camp last year. Hopefully schles has a little more left in the tank.

Quit what?

Quit harping on the "first team vs second team" offensive lines.

Cam has come out and said it means nothing.

I just think the journalist was giving the readers more information on where the linemen were lining up. It didn't sound like he was implying anything about who was winning any spots on the depth chart.

You may not live here, but your assessment is right on.

PBP is my favorite as well, followed by the Sun Sent. The herald isn't just bad, they been consistantly horrible for over 20 years. Le Bastid, Sal-yomamma & Poppet are the dregs of sports journalism...
