7/30 - Camp Tweets

For some reason I just feel better reading Garner and Turner getting 1st team reps. I remember last year when Garner filled in at C I was relieved to have a center that was not giving away the snap count. Pouncey's head bob before the snap last year would drive me crazy! Not saying Garner is a better center, but I feel comfortable with him there. I also feel good about Turner and his potential. Hope this lineup sticks.

It looks like Billy Turner is getting a look at RG with the first team, as well. Interesting again. #DolphinsTrainingCamp

Billy Turner and Nate Garner are indeed getting starter reps during final 11-on-11.

Hoops, you got your wish. Hopefully Turner can shine.

i don't mind saying it...i need more consistent play from tannehill...reports are hit and miss it seems...something to look for when he starts getting more reps with the wrs that will actually suit up for him in the game in 11 on 11s which is probably coming if not this week the next...give me wallace hartline mathews gibson and landry reps please

this shelley smith at center stuff is a disaster...fast paced offense requires ball out of hand quickly from the qb snaps must be solid...enough already

I think this was the worst day so far from Tannehill, but there were a lot of drops as well. I wonder how the wet ball affected both the QB's and WR's? Even Omar has said that Tannehill hasn't had the valley's and been as inconsistent as before. If Omar says something good about Tannehill being more consistent you know it is taking place. I believe that as you state, once Tannehill gets more reps with the 1's, they will become more cohesive.

3 thoughts after reading the tweets...

1) Deep balls frequent & successful w/ Wallace not in. Hmmmmm!?
2) I think 3/5 of the starting OL has been figured out. C & ORG are up in the air.
3) Imagine the chaos on the OL if the meatball were still around?

If shelly is out at center what's to say he isn't the RG? Has proven more in this league then dallas thomas has. And turner is a rookie

1.I don't know how it ended in the regular season but at one point last season, Tannehill was very accurate on the deep ball to anybody not named Mike Wallace

2.Yep, Albert and Colledge should be solid on the left, the inexperience on the right is going to suck early, but we'll see.

3.All the Cowboy castoffs would get first go at starting

Totally agree. Would just like a day where Tannehill is perfect or near-perfect

They replaced Smith with Garner at the end, lets see how this works out.

i'm hoping with tanny it's more working thru kinks with the offense than anything else and getting reps with guys that wont play...which soon need to be curbed...

there's always the possibilty that the qb mastered his prior system and the system was better than the qb or the only one he could play in but i just flat don't buy that at all off what i have seen...

Hope this McCain kid keeps it going. We could use a good LB.

Do you still believe with strong conviction that Tannehill is going to be elite hoops? You sound less convinced

The fact that Omar is giving him props should have you encouraged. Last year I remember Omar would be like "sure nice throw, but in a game he would've been sacked so that throw doesn't count" and he did it a couple times. Really seems like the only one being somewhat hard on Tannehill is Perkins.

You weren't seeing perfection from Tannehill under the system he had 4 year of experience coming in to last year, you most certainly won't see that from him under a completely different system. This is basically a reset on everything he's accustomed to doing.

I don't buy this. I honestly don't think Omar really knows what he's looking at when it comes to QB play. An endorsement from him really means absolutely nothing to me.

Interesting to see Omar give Chris McCain repeated raps describing him like Lawrence Taylor (maybe a slight exaggeration). He's 6'6" 250 lbs and he played at Cal before getting booted from the team for bad behavior. Does anyone know more about him? I see where he was a DE in college but someone said he's playing LB here.
Omar also gave raps to Landry, WR Damian Williams and RB Damien Williams. But Legadu Naanee and David Garrard also received commendation from Omar in previous seasons.

I dont understand the complains on Tannehill today. From what I read, it seemed like he had a decent day overall, certainly not his worst day. He hit a number of deep balls. he did have a couple of INTs and an overthrow or two, I guess he has to be 100% for some of you.
