Interesting to see Omar give Chris McCain repeated raps describing him like Lawrence Taylor (maybe a slight exaggeration). He's 6'6" 250 lbs and he played at Cal before getting booted from the team for bad behavior. Does anyone know more about him? I see where he was a DE in college but someone said he's playing LB here.
Omar also gave raps to Landry, WR Damian Williams and RB Damien Williams. But Legadu Naanee and David Garrard also received commendation from Omar in previous seasons.

He said playing like "LT against the scrubs", basically meaning that he should be moved up...not that he really is playing like LT. I hope he gets a chance and keeps it up at the next couple of levels. I would love to see someone step up and replace any of our starting LB's!

Jordan tripp is for real the instincts are there this kid is gonna start

Do you still believe with strong conviction that Tannehill is going to be elite hoops? You sound less convinced

yeah man...i'm just expecting more this year...there's no way i'm gonna let some media types takes from the nose bleed seats no less waiver me...unless i see a reason for pause which if that happens i will say so i'm all in on this qb thru 2 years of work...all in

i have a conviction on this kid

Here is a highlight of his 2012 game against UCLA. He's a hybrid player like Dion Jordan but not as explosive as Jordan. I think he ends up on the practice squad if he keeps his head on straight.

The one impression I'm left with after about a week of TC is the secondary is beasting. And in case anybody didn't realize it they were already 4th in opposing team passer rating last season. If our offense can just do their part be efficient our defense can win us a lot of games.

Oh and Devlin's attempt to spike the ball turning into a pick 6..... :tubes:

I would guess that before now never in the history of the league has a spike attempt resulted in a pick 6, in practice or in games.

Indeed sounds like Taylor is balling can't believe he was so down on his health he was gonna quit. Dude has talent. Finnegan seems to be holding his own as well. But this team has to play with a lead or the defense will likely get gashed on the ground.

All depends on the offense. We have to put up 30 a game. If we do that we make the playoffs

lol, we do that we'll make the playoffs regardless of the defense. Only one team scored over 30 a game last year and that was Denver.

The Chris McCain stuff is interesting. Here is a brief link just as a reminder.

You don't see that many 6'6 250 lb guys at 4-3 OLB. (I'm distingushing this from a rush end.) Is he really playing outside backer in the 4-3?

Damien Williams, and of course Anthony Johnson, are two other undrafted guys I am excited about. That's basically 3 high ceiling, low risk but high reward guys. Gator Hoskins is another. I think we did an outstanding job on the undrafteds.

As for the drafted guys, Fede seems to be flashing too. He's another guy with some really good physical measurables. Walt Aikens seems to be more reasonable at safety.

With guys from last year's rookie class starting to get more of an opportunity, like Jamar Taylor and Dallas Thomas, we can have a decent infusion of youth this season. Jenkins is playing. Jordan is suspended but seems to be flashing. Will Davis seems quiet and Dion Sims may be on the bubble, though.

I wouldn't count on Dallas Thomas...sounds like he hasn't improved much from last year. My guess is Turner will end up taking his spot before the preseason is done.

I dont understand the complains on Tannehill today. From what I read, it seemed like he had a decent day overall, certainly not his worst day. He hit a number of deep balls. he did have a couple of INTs and an overthrow or two, I guess he has to be 100% for some of you.

If he or Moore don't throw INTs, people would complain that the secondary stinks.

Ok 25 a game. You know what I mean last year we never scored 30 once did we

I'm pretty sure we scored 30 against the Steelers and that was it I believe. I'm not worried... it's still early in camp. Although, the sooner they resolve the Center position issue, the better.

PITTSBURGH -- Considering everything the resilient Miami Dolphins have put themselves through over the last two months, a couple of snowflakes were hardly going to be a problem.

Not with Ryan Tannehill throwing and running like a guy who enjoys the white stuff. Not with Charles Clay muscling through the arm tackle of a likely Hall of Famer for the winning score. Not even with a Keystone Kops finale that ever so briefly appeared to be for real.

Clay bulled through Pittsburgh safety Troy Polamalu and cornerback Cortez Allen to score a 12-yard touchdown with 2:53 remaining to put the Dolphins in front to stay and Miami survived a wild finish to edge the Steelers 34-28 on Sunday.
