Alright so I looked at my first mock draft and i found some problems with it, mostly lack of LBs and an early pick for WR..
i had 1)Rey Mau, 2a)Kenny Britt 2b) Mickens/Butler 3)Ohgobasse 4)Joe Burnett
here is my re-do...
Rd. 1 No. 25) Terrence Cody - NT (BAMA) 6'5 370 lbs, is actually quick off his feet and will learn well under ferguson's last season.. Him and Soliai will have us solid at NT for a long time. BJ Raji is smaller 6'1 325, but is much faster than cody and could also be the pick here.
Rd.2 No. 16 (Skins) Darry Beckworth - ILB (LSU) Pretty quick around to the ball, personally i think we need to upgrade ILB more than OLB. Roth will get better and channing needs a big play guy next to him, Ayodele is a solid backup..
Rd.2 No.25 Darius Butler or Trevard Lindley, even Victor Harris.. Butler is the fastest, and Lindley has best size.. he held his own against Julio Jones a huge WR..
Rd.3 No. 25- Rashad Johnson - FS (BAMA) Derek Pegues could also be a pick here... We really need a replacement for Hill, at least some solid depth... I think we are set with SS and NB (Bell, JAllen, NJones, Culver are pretty tight) We might look for FS much later and pick a versatile O-Lineman here
Rd. 4 No.10- We trade up to get Adam Ulatoski- RT (Texas) I think Carey walks, he'll want alot of money, i'd rather sure up the defense, then spend tons of money on a massive run blocker... Carey might go play LT somewhere else.. he did a decent job last year... Ulatoski is 6'8 320, and could add more weight... Him and Donald Thomas or Satele would make our right side almost as formidable as the Left, and R&R+Cobbs should be able to run anywhere they want with gaping holes in the defense...
Rd. 5 No. 25- Darcel McBath- FS - Texas Tech First team All Big 12, great senior season, @ 200lbs he needs to gain weight for NFL size WR's. Although we drafted a FS already, we need upgrades in Special teams, and this kid is fast enough to be a NB, DB. We may have 2 rookies at FS next year, i don't see Hill resigning..
Rd 6- Dan Gronkowski - TE, 6'6 265lbs, Maryland.. Haynos and Martin can catch, great receiving threats, however, neither is much of a blocker.. We could go early in draft for TE, maybe we sign a FA, but we need a blocking TE other than Fasano so we can get some max protect and solid outsider running game. Gronkowski doesn't have the drops, he just doesn't get the ball thrown at him much unless in redzone... Kind of like a Haynos, only a better blocker..
Rd7- (Browns- T.Daniels) Wopamo Osaisai - CB - Stanford - I love his name, but he's also a track star that might run a 4.38 40.. Pac-10 2nd teamer, the kid is quick, and at 5-11, 200lbs nice size, I'd be happy drafting him in 6th round...
Rd7- Graham Gano- K - (FSU) Sure Carpenter can kick FG's under 45 very well, but if your coach wont let you kick 50-54 yarders, then your not that good. If you can't kick it into the endzone everytime, your leg isn't that strong. Gano's leg is so strong he's probably a 5th or 6th round pick, i really like him here but wouldn't draft a kicker earlier than 7th round.
Rd7- (Panthers- McClown) Greg Carr - WR - FSU - He's 6'6 220, and I've been watching him all season. He's not explosive, but MAN! he keeps comming down with those JumpBalls Ponder throws. He's hard to bring down and he catches in space. He's really just some tank of a dude will replace Wilford easily. He ain't fast, but he blocks, he's very physical, and catches some crazy balls..
So you can probably tell I really like size. I also like great defense. We can sure up a few positions in the secondary, linebacking unit, special teams, and Oline, i think we will really succeed next year. I think I may have gone a little to secondary happy, but we could use a makeover. Plus i watched alot of DB's in college this year, cuz i knew the Phins needed some serious help at FS, and CB
