Alright so I looked at my first mock draft and i found some problems with it, mostly lack of LBs and an early pick for WR..
i had 1)Rey Mau, 2a)Kenny Britt 2b) Mickens/Butler 3)Ohgobasse 4)Joe Burnett

here is my re-do...
Rd. 1 No. 25) Terrence Cody - NT (BAMA) 6'5 370 lbs, is actually quick off his feet and will learn well under ferguson's last season.. Him and Soliai will have us solid at NT for a long time. BJ Raji is smaller 6'1 325, but is much faster than cody and could also be the pick here.
Rd.2 No. 16 (Skins) Darry Beckworth - ILB (LSU) Pretty quick around to the ball, personally i think we need to upgrade ILB more than OLB. Roth will get better and channing needs a big play guy next to him, Ayodele is a solid backup..
Rd.2 No.25 Darius Butler or Trevard Lindley, even Victor Harris.. Butler is the fastest, and Lindley has best size.. he held his own against Julio Jones a huge WR..
Rd.3 No. 25- Rashad Johnson - FS (BAMA) Derek Pegues could also be a pick here... We really need a replacement for Hill, at least some solid depth... I think we are set with SS and NB (Bell, JAllen, NJones, Culver are pretty tight) We might look for FS much later and pick a versatile O-Lineman here
Rd. 4 No.10- We trade up to get Adam Ulatoski- RT (Texas) I think Carey walks, he'll want alot of money, i'd rather sure up the defense, then spend tons of money on a massive run blocker... Carey might go play LT somewhere else.. he did a decent job last year... Ulatoski is 6'8 320, and could add more weight... Him and Donald Thomas or Satele would make our right side almost as formidable as the Left, and R&R+Cobbs should be able to run anywhere they want with gaping holes in the defense...
Rd. 5 No. 25- Darcel McBath- FS - Texas Tech First team All Big 12, great senior season, @ 200lbs he needs to gain weight for NFL size WR's. Although we drafted a FS already, we need upgrades in Special teams, and this kid is fast enough to be a NB, DB. We may have 2 rookies at FS next year, i don't see Hill resigning..
Rd 6- Dan Gronkowski - TE, 6'6 265lbs, Maryland.. Haynos and Martin can catch, great receiving threats, however, neither is much of a blocker.. We could go early in draft for TE, maybe we sign a FA, but we need a blocking TE other than Fasano so we can get some max protect and solid outsider running game. Gronkowski doesn't have the drops, he just doesn't get the ball thrown at him much unless in redzone... Kind of like a Haynos, only a better blocker..
Rd7- (Browns- T.Daniels) Wopamo Osaisai - CB - Stanford - I love his name, but he's also a track star that might run a 4.38 40.. Pac-10 2nd teamer, the kid is quick, and at 5-11, 200lbs nice size, I'd be happy drafting him in 6th round...
Rd7- Graham Gano- K - (FSU) Sure Carpenter can kick FG's under 45 very well, but if your coach wont let you kick 50-54 yarders, then your not that good. If you can't kick it into the endzone everytime, your leg isn't that strong. Gano's leg is so strong he's probably a 5th or 6th round pick, i really like him here but wouldn't draft a kicker earlier than 7th round.
Rd7- (Panthers- McClown) Greg Carr - WR - FSU - He's 6'6 220, and I've been watching him all season. He's not explosive, but MAN! he keeps comming down with those JumpBalls Ponder throws. He's hard to bring down and he catches in space. He's really just some tank of a dude will replace Wilford easily. He ain't fast, but he blocks, he's very physical, and catches some crazy balls..

So you can probably tell I really like size. I also like great defense. We can sure up a few positions in the secondary, linebacking unit, special teams, and Oline, i think we will really succeed next year. I think I may have gone a little to secondary happy, but we could use a makeover. Plus i watched alot of DB's in college this year, cuz i knew the Phins needed some serious help at FS, and CB

Theres NO way Rashad Johnson is there in 3. he will probably be gone before either of our 2nd round picks. Hes a ball hawk. I'd love to get Lindley though

Carey walks and you wait until the 4th round to replace him?

BTW, I have seen Cody play a few times and came away totally unimpressed. I don't get what ppl see in him. He looked slow off the ball and got manhandled from time to time.

i realize Rashad the rashad pick is a stretch, he's more of a late 2nd early 3rd, but i think people over rate him in alot of cases...

and you dont spend 1st rounders on right tackles unless you have almost every position on your roster filled out... we are going to sign some FA OLine veteran depth too... I'd love carey to come back for 4 mil a year, similar to smiley's contract..
Carey might get 7 mil to play LT for one of those crappy teams that drafta QB early...,
As for replacing in 4th round when we drafted for RG, we took Murphy in 4th, and Donald Thomas in 6th... You can find these guys where ever in the draft... Ulatoski is a beast of a man and if we drafted here, we wouldnt have to have so much money on the offensive line.. Jake Long and Smiley combine for like 18 mil a year... you really want the line to be the highest paid part of our team?
sorry, i'd like to spend on a few free agent LB's and CB's... Get Suggs and Dunta Robinson... :)

1. Terrance Cody has already said he is returning to 'Bama for his senior year.

"I talked to Coach Saban quite a few times about it," Cody said. "I told him what I really wanted to do. He felt like it was good for me to do that, too. I told him I felt like I needed another year to get full control and get my weight down and then get my knee back to full health."

2. I'm not sure Darry Beckworth fits what the Trifecta is looking for in a 3-4 ILB. At 6' 1/2" and 230 lbs, Darry might be a better fit for a team running the 4-3 and/or a cover 2 type of scheme.

3. Do you really think Parcells is going to use a pick on a place kicker? The one position he dislikes the most. Gano is good but he won't be in a Dolphins uniform unless he signs as a UDFA.

4. You have completely overlooked the fact that the Dolphins defense need atleast one more pass rusher. I don't care how good the players in your secondary are, they cannot cover forever and without a good pass rush will not be able to stop anyone's passing game on a consistent basis.

Exactly, this is just an all around strange group of picks. They as a whole don't fit. The team will be after OL (C, G, & T), NT, ILB, OLB and CB. I even think they'll wait to the 3rd for a reciever, their just arent any "I gotta have" WRs the Dolphins can get to.

This is the Perfect Draft for the Dolphins to build a playmaking Secondary and LB core. LBs like Rey M., Curry, Brinkley, Barwin, Hardy, Sintim and some others are available. In the Secondary Harris, Mays, Butler, Moore, Langford, and so on.

I would take Peria Jerry from ole miss over cody anyday of the week, even raji for that matter. Does a great job against the run and the pass, but most importantyl against the pass right up the middle, an area we are not very good at

I like PJ, but I think he's just too small to man the NT position in a 3-4. I'd love him in the rotation at DE, or as a pass-rushing NT, though.

I like Peria's quickness and the way he uses his hands but I think you are kidding yourself about wanting him over B.J. in a 3-4 defense.
Jerry is a 6'2" 290 lb DT whereas Raji is about 6'1" 325. I think Raji has a better chance of succeeding at NT than Jerry does.

If carey was to walk what does everyone think of drafting Phil Loadholt 6'8 350 tackle from oklahoma in the second round.

i am sorry i havent really focused much on the draft yet but knowing what i know, that wouldnt be a very good draft, and a couple of those guys u have to late

i'm not familiar with him all that well, but my brother thinks he'd be a great addition to our OL as our RT...

i would say lets get the Alphonso Smith kid from Alabama in rd 1 and get center David Washington from ous , and then draft 4 cb's and 2 safety .

ummmm,Alphonso Smith doesn't play for Alabama...now if you're thinking of Rashad Johnson the Safety, then yes,he does play for Bama, but i wouldn't get him in the 1st...i hope we get either Raji or an OLB in the 1st...
