Just read this month's ESPN magazine and they really lay it on about how the 72 team had such an easy schedule and generally demeaning the accomplishment. Then later on they bash the whole chmapgne toast thing.

I honestly feel that the media is pulling for the Colts just to get rid of the 72 legacy.

Our boys earned it and they deserve continued respect.

I'm guessing the article was probably written by somone who wasn't even literate in '72. Those who weren't around tend to want to have their own history. It's more exciting to live in the time of the best team ever than to hear old guys talk about it, right?

Who cares? We're the only undefeated team EVER! I'm sure there have been other teams in the history of the NFL who've had their chance and couldn't do it...Oh well?

Not to mention the second string QB we had playing most of the year, and the fact that despite being Undefeated we were still the underdog in games toward teh end of the year.

I'd love to see the Colts stay undefeated because they win the right way, and I think the players on the team and Coach Dungy are that good. The only reason I might not want them to win out is because Peyton already took one of The Mans records last year, and I dont want him bumping aside Fins history all the time, lol, but he is a class act and if anyone does it, it should be him.

i think its just because espn hates us and they want someone to break our record, especially the colts, look at last year, they wanted peyton manning to breaking marinos record so bad, that thing was on air more then their 13-0 start thus far.....

True the Colts are class from top to bottom if its got to go Id rather have it be them.

everyone who is a hater is getting brave. Just think, if the Colts don't do it now it bolsters the difficulty of the entire thing.

Yeah I also read that...for those who haven't read it, it says...

"While it's true and impressive that no NFL team before or since '72 has gone through an entire season undefeated, keep in mind that those Dolphins had a cupcake scheudule. Only two of their regular-season opponents finished above .500 (both 8-6), and the combined record of all their foes was 70-122-4. Miami didn't exactly blow out its postseason opposition, either, winning by six, four, and seven points. Csonka, Kiick & Co. were very good. They were also very lucky."
-Steve Wulf ESPN

I like how they never mention we had to play Pittsburgh in the Championship game at Pitt.

The most EASY article for a hack to write. Bravo for the guy to pick up his check as every hack in the country can write the same one in 10 minutes.

What I can't figure out is, IF the Colts do match the perfect season that's all that they have done is matched it.

We as dolphin fans still have the first perfect season. That's something nobody can take away.

The Dolphins set the bar baby!

Just to make it fair, the Colts should have to go undefeated in the regular season, then play the AFC Championship game in Pittsburgh or Foxboro. THAT would be a valid comparison... ;)

The COLTS have to WIN the SUPERBOWL this year to be considered "UNDEFEATED" by me!!! An Undefeated season is just that... Losing in the Playoffs is not going undefeated!!!:fire:
