Im not advocating this at all.

But I almost drove off the rode when I heard Stugotz on 790 The Ticket propose this idea for us to move up in the draft and take a QB. He says right now Ricky is better than Ronnie and he would make the trade to get a guy like Vince Young. Talk about knee-jerk!!:shakeno: I know Young had the game of the ages on Wednesday night but let's be real here. Ronnie is a hell of a back and has tremendous upside. He hit the proverbial rookie wall this year and Ricky played very well down the stretch. Yet Ricky is one mistake away from being banned from football for good.

No thanks.

I would NEVER make this trade. How this guy is on the air proposing this idea, to me is ridiculous.

This fool can be heard on http://www.790theticket.com .

Feel free to call him and give him your 2 cents.

Well, I do agree that Ricky is better than Ronnie. (not saying Ronnie won't eventually be as good or better than Ricky). But right now Ricky is better, IMO. BUUUUUUUUUUUT, I wouldn't trade Ronnie. Especially when we're talking about a very unsure thing.

Idiot also was saying New England didn't have to compensate the Jets when Belichick left.

I have the feeling that HE won't be talking about the cartoon that has Cefalo making that awful call and having his head blow up. ... considering he was just kissing Cefalo's ssa 10 minutes ago.

Ricky is not an all around better player then Brown right now. Brown is a much better blocker and reciever then Ricky.

I'm not sold on the idea that the current Ricky is better than Ronnie. They are both great backs. Ronnie had an outstanding rookie season. He will only get better. I can't believe somebody suggested Miami should trade him. There is no limit to what people will suggest in the offseason. :goof:

I think this Vince Young nut-hugging is getting a little out of hand and this is the perfect example.

People want to strip Bush of the Heisman?!?!?! :sidelol:

My question is, where were these people the day AFTER Bush got the Heisman?

OMG--if the Fins did that..that would be...uhh...well you know....Brown is going to be a special back in this league..I for one, am VERY GLAD were not playing you next year in the regular season:)

Yeah I heard the interview. Talk about brown nosing!! Cefalo cant and will never be able to hold Bill Zimpfers jock..er..uhh..microphone.

I was actually considering emailing in, he is sounding like a total idiot for the second day in a row (yesterday was saying Reggie Bush should have been a decoy on 4th and 2 in the Rose Bowl).

As for trading Ronnie,

a) Nobody is going to trade a top 3 pick for Ronnie. I'm very happy we have Ronnie and he was the right pick last year. Fact is though, if you want a young running back and have a top 3 pick, you can get either Reggie Bush or DeAngelo Williams.

b) Trading Ronnie would likely have a cap hit closing in on 10 million (i dont know the exact figure)

c) Teams looking to trade with us for a back, would want Ricky for the same reason we would want to keep him, his salary.

d) Running backs just dont get traded for picks that high anymore.

What makes Weiner even more foolish is his idea that we'd then take another running back with the no.16 pick, which would mean paying out for another RB all over again.

Ricky is a different runner than Ronnie. Ronnie is better for this offense than Ricky. He is more versatile and nearly as productive. Linehan needs to figure a way to utilize both...he seems to either utilize one or the other.

Is Ricky better than Ronnie...NO There is one reason for that statement. Ricky is STILL just one toke away from a year suspension and is nearer the end of his career than Brown.

But that trade makes no sense...if S. Alexander and Edge could only garner 3rd round picks, RW won't entice anyone to trade down to 16 versus a top 3 pick (which is what we'd probably need to get Young since his unbelievable game the other night...)

Thank goodness Saban is running the team.

we couldn't trade Ronnie if we wanted to. Didn't we give him a $14 million bonus???? I'm not sure, but wouldn't the other team have to pick up the balance in order to for us not to get hit with the cap..or something like that???
