2008 Miami dolphins FA signings
1.Drayton Florence CB San Diego
2.Flozell Adams OT Dallas
3.DJ Hackett WR Seattle

1.Chris Long(DE Virginia)- monster pass rusher that would be a great opposite DE to JT
2a.James Hardy(WR Indiana)- Big physical WR that would take all the pressure of ted ginns speed
2b. Joe Flacco(QB Deleware)- This kid is the real deal. He threw the ball 71 yards and won the competition between all 5 senior Qbs. Great pick
3.Anthony Collins(OT Kansas)- will automatically improve our OL with his size and strength.
4.Glenn Sharpe(CB Miami,FL)- Fast corner that could have a chance to get the number 3 CB job. 5.Gone in T.Green Trade
6.Jamie Silva(SS Boston College)- Hard hitting Safety as well as good pass coverage saftey.
7.Corey McKeon(MLB Nebraska)- Hopefully we'll get lucky with a similar Zach Thomas pickup late in the draft.'

Where are your linebackers? Parcells religiously plays the 3-4 and all his disciples he brought in for the coaching staff will too. We're a team with at best 2 linebackers, maybe less. Taylor could be called an WOLB, if he's not traded. Porter is a SOLB, if he's not gone for character reasons, Crowder is the antithises of a Parcells linebacker because he makes no big plays (no sacks, no interceptions, no forced fumbles) and has questionable character. Zach isn't going to play because Ireland wants to get rid of his salary, doesn't like his concussions, and he's not the prototypical big fast athletic linebacker around which the new Dolphins will be built. So, definitely Zach's gone and 1 or 2 of the other 3 will be gone as well, and that's our starters.

Take it to the bank that we'll add linebackers this offseason. I'd be shocked if we didn't draft at least 1. I'm thinking Groves with the 32nd overall pick if he's there would be a good bet. We also need at least 2 defensive lineman. Someone like Red Bryant of Texas A&M would be a good call with the 4th round pick.

This team is going to start rebuilding the defense mostly, and your picks are skewed towards the offense. I happen to like most of those players, but I don't think it's very realistic.

First and foremost (Here we go, one more time)..

Our biggest concern HAS TO BE stopping the run. Teams ran second string backs all over us last year. That WILL end under the new regime

I like Chris Long VERY much, not as much as Dorsey, but wouldnt be to heart-broken if we go that direction.
That being said, IF we go Long, we had better pick up not only a serious DT early in the draft, but also an absolute STUD LB...You have addressed neither of those needs

Also, still dont understand all the love for Falco.

I like Hardy, but if we spend the money on a FA WR, we wont draft one that early

Another absolute need you neglected is TE

not bad, I just think we need more defense in the first three picks. I would not mind if we took long first and then the best corner with our second pick.

Maybe a tight end or receiver after that... other than that i like it

Drayton is not a good pick up. Please look at the last 5 or 6 games of San Diego, and you will see that he was getting burnt. I hope Miami doesn't persue him. Also please do not combine free agency/draft threads together. Draft threads belong in the draft forum. Thanks.

Not bad But I really dont like flacco in the second round I believe we need more help on defense and maybe get someone like chad henne in fourth round

Would prefer a TE or DT/LB/CB over Flacco. Well pretty much any position actually.

We dont have a 5th round pick, and Flacco just won the long ball competition. His accuracy was bad. Hes not a good selection, and no way we draft him.

his biggest problem is he gets stupid personal foul penalties after plays are over.

that being said, Hardy and Flacco are not a great 2nd round for us. Hardy maybe (though his character concerns might be a no-no), but Flacco is not a good pick up in the 2nd. I also doubt Collins falls to the 3rd.

4-7 is not bad, but not a fan of our two second rounders
