8/14 Camp Tweets

I don't need some illiterate self-promoting hack to educate me about football. Especially one who post things like:
"OJ McDuffie is here education media members about routes & adjustments" ... what the ...

Just report what happens you egotistical prick!

i think we just saw OMAR finally admit he knows NOTHING about the inner workings of the game. something the fans have known about him for years now.

i see this as a positive. as long as he is going to be around and spouting off about our team, educating his is good. i wonder if the sun sentinal arranged this as they grew tired of his embarrassments?

Great to see both Hartline and Wallace will play this weekend.

Also, nice to hear Pouncey doesn't want to go on PUP and that the decision is up to Hickey. I am guessing that is what the long discussion was about between the two of them during practice on Tuesday.

atl put together an 18 play drive against our d chewing up a bunch of clock in the process...i think we are gonna see a lot of long drives...the good thing though is the tempo of the offense we can score in 5 minutes...unlike years past...i think too we will go even faster as far as rushing to the los and snapping the ball quick etc once we play for keeps

the formula for the opposition vs our d though ocs will employ...run the ball down our throats and attack the lbs...with misdirection with play action etc...miamis gonna be creeping those safeties up this year...

Which is why I actually like the we now have gap penetrating D-lineman instead of just space eaters. Most of the time the LB's don't make the play anyway so if a lineman can get into the backfield to blow up a RB it will put the offense in a longer down and distance. Where the linemen can then pin their ears back to after the QB. I just hope the LB's can make two or three plays a game so the D can get off the field.

What really bothers me is that the coaching staff said Wheeler is still playing without discipline. As a seasoned veteran how is that possible? One player playing like that can ruin an entire defense. Here's to hoping he gets his **** together but I doubt it will happen.

Been hearing for weeks now that Damien Williams runs really nice routes out of the backfield and does a good job adjusting to / catching the football.

In this offense, it looks like the backs are going to be asked to go out to catch balls rather than stay in to block. I think Williams is playing himself into a spot on the 53.

YEP!! he posses all the skills miller lacks. plus williams can block, another miller weakness.

Last year I predicted anywhere from 7-9 to 9-7. I would feel safe based on Tannehill/the offense growing this year that the Fins will at least be 9-7 with a strong chance of going 10-6 and even a possibility at 11-5.

If this offense clicks and can consistently score over 24 points/game than the run defense won't be that big of a deal (in the regular season). The D-line and to an extent LB's are meant to put pressure on the QB and if the offense can put them in that position they will flourish.

I'll start to get optimistic if I see us light up the Cowboys in the dress rehearsal. That defense is straight trash. I want three touchdowns in the first half.

yeah i mean i guess if you are gonna rely on the pass rush that makes sense to go with gap penetrator dts...but if you run a lot of stunts up front and guys lose gaps in an effort to get up field which is what just about all our dts game is to get up field and the lbs don't fill properly (and ours i can tell you don't fill timely very much) you leave yourself with wide open holes untouched into the second level downhill for rbs and create running lanes in the process..

i'd like to think the offense will have more possessions this year but i don't know if we will or not if the d can't get off the field...i do know whatever possessions the offense has they better make good on them cause the oppositions gonna bleed the clock on us when they have it

I thought we'd got 6-10 last year and I thought Philbin did a heck of a job getting us to 8-8, especially with Bully gate. I think we go 10-6 this year.

looks like you and i are the ONLY two who saw that fact.

one of the best coaching jobs i have seen in years. and if tanny wouldnt have folded like a piece of oregami, philbin would have enjoyed a playoff game for his fine job.

you cant MAKE tanny throw to the right guy or to not take a sack. you can tell him to and show him how [which i am sure the coaching staff has many, many times] but HE is the one who has to execute the play. he failed, not philbin.

good post.

it's definitely trash...we should torch that unit...they got nothing...the cowboys seasos is over already with that d

Yup. Some people say that the preseason is meaningless, but I've almost always found that dress rehearsal game to be a good barometer of what you can expect from a team in terms of strengths and liabilities.

If our offense goes out there and doesn't blow up that awful Cowboys D, I'm going to be concerned.

i personally think we shouldn't show them that much...i don't really get the point...now that oline they gonna show our d a few things...downhill right at them

I think that even if we don't show anything fancy, we still need to put some points up on them. That unit is that bad, IMO.

I'm a Tannehill fan and I think he improved a lot last year...some don't see it. However, those last two games he was straight garbage, especially the Buffalo game. He was way off the mark on a lot of passes he routinely made during the season. Personally I think he was injured more than he let on. I remember he came out for a few series and Moore came in after one sack where I think he may have twisted his knee. Definitely wasn't the same QB who played one of his best games against the Patriots in that 3rd to last game.

If the O-line plays well and cut the sack, pressures and knockdowns down by at least 30% (that's going from 58 sacks to 41) we'll win 10 games.

you are smart enough not to blame the qb for that buffalo massacre...i know you are...

This is what is going to concern me 100%. New England and Buffalo see that on film and we could be in for a rude awakening the first two weeks of the season.

I agree with not showing much on the offensive side of the ball. Why give teams a look at what you are going to do when they don't have anything on tape. Take every advantage you can get.

I think preseason shows a lot. Not only the dress rehearsal, but just getting an idea of where rookies and 3rd string players are. There's only so much you can 'tell' from practice tweets.
