8/14 Camp Tweets

you are smart enough not to blame the qb for that buffalo massacre...i know you are...

Not all on Tannehill...I know he was hurt...that O-line got abused too. We gave up 7 sacks in that game, 14 total yards rushing. Entire offense was garbage that game.

I think preseason shows a lot. Not only the dress rehearsal, but just getting an idea of where rookies and 3rd string players are. There's only so much you can 'tell' from practice tweets.

the preseason game tapes are great for evaluating talent...great for it...you can see flaws and concerns and redeeming qualities etc...that's why in a scoops i don't apologize for a take on a player or how it will fit in the system it's a freaking player evaluation not a reach around...if you want a recap go read a newspaper

you can tell watching dallas that their d is screwed...no scheme or not...they have player deficiencies all over that unit...

tripp and mccain have bumped up to the 2's...would expect to see that on saturday...now if they'd just bump out trusnick

fede making me think that dion jordan is in fact traded this offseason...miami may feel like they got a solid 2 deep rotation without him...
I have the same inclination about Jordan but I'm not waiting for the off season.

Some good....Tripp getting reps with starters, Ryan having a good week, Williams making an impression and Fede making a push to be in the rotation. Pouncey rehab is promising as well

Some Bad....Jordan still struggling....still don't think OLB in this defense will work...hopefully he has a few plays he shines on and the phins get decent value for him.
I'm afraid they won't get more than a second and even that's a lot to hope for.

TRIP-MISI-McCAIN looks pretty damn tasty. young, fast, physical lb's across the board with that lineup. a distinct difference than the last few seasons of lb play.

That combo would likely struggle big time in coverage. Jelani Jenkins is our best coverage LB so far, though Misi did improve a lot last year after a few years of pretty dismal coverage.

I'm a Tannehill fan and I think he improved a lot last year...some don't see it. However, those last two games he was straight garbage, especially the Buffalo game. He was way off the mark on a lot of passes he routinely made during the season. Personally I think he was injured more than he let on. I remember he came out for a few series and Moore came in after one sack where I think he may have twisted his knee. Definitely wasn't the same QB who played one of his best games against the Patriots in that 3rd to last game.

If the O-line plays well and cut the sack, pressures and knockdowns down by at least 30% (that's going from 58 sacks to 41) we'll win 10 games.

Good observation on the injury in Buffalo even though he was having a poor game before the injury.... I was expecting him to put together one drive to get us in the game and to get the D off the field long enough to rest, so they could make some plays in order for us to win.....that injury could have been more serious than he let on which would also explain the poor game against the Jets....

Anyone waterboard Omar yet? I have some water that's about to boil!

Last year I predicted anywhere from 7-9 to 9-7. I would feel safe based on Tannehill/the offense growing this year that the Fins will at least be 9-7 with a strong chance of going 10-6 and even a possibility at 11-5.

I called 8-8 & barely missing the playoffs last yr, but, have yet to make any educated guesses for this season.

atl put together an 18 play drive against our d chewing up a bunch of clock in the process...i think we are gonna see a lot of long drives...the good thing though is the tempo of the offense we can score in 5 minutes...unlike years past...i think too we will go even faster as far as rushing to the los and snapping the ball quick etc once we play for keeps

the formula for the opposition vs our d though ocs will employ...run the ball down our throats and attack the lbs...with misdirection with play action etc...miamis gonna be creeping those safeties up this year...
If you bring Wheeler off the field on 3rd down, the odds the defense gets off the field without giving up a first down greatly improve. It seems that he is always choosing 3rd down for his lack of tackling or discipline.

lol exactly.

But yea, I'm in the DFW area and there are no high hopes for the Cowboys. They're going to be bad and the fans here know it! There's a handful of 'em here at work that were upset that they didn't draft Johnny, but most realize he isn't going to have a very good NFL career.

i think it's more than wheeler...it's a lack of instincts at lb...a blatant one...all athletes...and misi athletically has limiatations which stand out at mike...too much space...they could change some things but i still don't see the instincts at lb where it would "fix" anything

Haven't seen enough of Misi at the Mike but if Tripp could assume the duties there and kick Misi outside that's an improvement. Still need to find a replacement for Ellerbee. I swear I don't remember seeing 2 starting LBs that spent so much time behind the play and missing as many tackles as they do.

I think Ellerbe is worse than Wheeler. A lot of times you can see Ellerbe just kind of sitting there like a deer caught in the headlights.

Yet Wheeler catches all the flack because he's always chasing the play. He often reminds me of Crowder in some aspects.

Fans need to realize just how awful our LB corps is in totality.

Something that may interest only me: Mike Wallace told Omar Kelly that he's added 8 pounds of muscle to handle the crossing routes that are going to be asked of him in this offense.

As someone who was begging us to use Wallace more on horizontal routes, I think this is great news.
