8/14 Camp Tweets

Haven't seen enough of Misi at the Mike but if Tripp could assume the duties there and kick Misi outside that's an improvement. Still need to find a replacement for Ellerbee. I swear I don't remember seeing 2 starting LBs that spent so much time behind the play and missing as many tackles as they do.

tripps probably the only that could make a difference...if he could play a solid mike and we could misi back to strong...where he belongs...but mike is a lot about read and diag and so he's gonna have to show it...i bet though saturday he gets most his run with the 2's and maybe more outside than inside...

i see an awful lot of olbs on this team and basically no mikes...but again it's the read and diag lack not the athletes

we'll see...

Something that may interest only me: Mike Wallace told Omar Kelly that he's added 8 pounds of muscle to handle the crossing routes that are going to be asked of him in this offense.

As someone who was begging us to use Wallace more on horizontal routes, I think this is great news.
Agreed. When Wallace ran other than vertical and got his hands on the ball good things happened. Another reason I cursed Sherman for not using more quick crossing routes.

My question would be why do we fell the LB's, the same group from last year, will be even more the death of the team. I know they were bad last year but the D still kept us in many games and we still got 8 wins. Why do we fell it will be so much worse in 2014, Misi in the middle? More film to figure out these guys are the weakness?

It was particularly frustrating because if you look at how he was used in Pittsburgh, many of his big plays came on crossing routes when he was able to get separation and then turn upfield. You don't have to send him on a 9 to make use of his speed.

I thought Mike Sherman had his moments, but on the whole, his offensive design last year was ****ing terrible.

Absolutely correct and why no deep slants or posts?

Agreed. I like it.

Though, I said recently that it won't surpise me if the 2015 LB corp is Jenkins (Will), Tripp (Mike), & Misi (Sam).

If it comes to that we'll find an upgrade somewhere in FA or draft

I'm really surprised that given the scheme and predictability of the offense last year that we got to 8-8 and challenging in week 17 for a playoff spot. Though early, what I'm seeing and reading is that this offense is going to be very efficient and will put points on the board. Will be a breath of fresh air.

Scares the crap out of me what good QB's could do against this LB core if they make it a point to exploit it. Pat's, Packers, Broncos, Ravens and possibly the Bears and Charges depending which QB shows up that day all on the schedule. That and the OL situation have to be the biggest concerns. I don't see 10 wins on the schedule but who knows where teams are at when you play them etc.

they are working wallace from the inside...your prayers look to be ansswered...i bet they motion him down inside and run vertical max protect 2 wr routes off pa with hartline underneath and wallace over the top either with deep crosses or post routes into the middle of the field...i have no doubts mike wallace will be invading safeties this year and motioned to get off coverage

they should move Jordan to OLB and sometimes DE on obvious passing downs, hes not looking promising at all lately and Coyle doesnt seem to know how to use him.

good to see Marino on the field

good to see another connection from TANNEGAWD to Wallace.

I realize training camp reports can be deceiving for obvious reasons but it sounds like we would have some tough decisions if rosters were 63-man, it sounds like we're in danger of cutting some good players to get it to 53.

-Damien Williams stood out at Atlanta, was gutted about the injury but the kid is a fighter.
-We might have to cut Wheeler despite the cap implications just to ensure we don't lose a good player to keep his sorry ass around.
-Olivier Vernon sounds like he's stepped it up even more. Jordan could be disposable especially if Fede is for real. If Philbin's seat wasn't so hot he would be a good candidate to trade for a pick
- It sounds like we have at least 3 really good safeties. And maybe 4 good CBs.
- It sounds like Sims put the work in. I'm getting a little concerned about Clay atm but if he's a go we could have two really good TEs that compliment each other.

Somebody said the three coordinators may be the best the Dolphins have had in a long time, I would add to that and say Philbin is the best Head Coach this team has had since I've been paying attention to that stuff. And we haven't had a competent Head Coach since Jimmy Johnson left.

All in all I would put the betting line at 8.5. But, if Tannehill takes a big step up and produces a 90+ rating, if Lazor is much better than Sherman, if some of Hickeys moves pans out, and we avoid injuries to key players I see no reason why we can't win 10 or 12 games.

Well last year we had Soliai who consistently took up two blockers...we may not have that D-lineman now that can do that which means O-line are free to get to the 2nd level and block the linebackers out of the play.

it's not just the qbs...although that's plenty...wait til they break out the misdirection...

yeah teams got us in the nickel last year on early downs even and took solia off the field doubled a dt usually odrick and blew him out and the back into the 2nd level...more had to run at us in nickel this year they willrun right at us in nickel or base it doesn't matter...and work off pa against the lbs and misdirection at the 2nd level...our dts are begging to be doubled and blown out this year

misdirection with lbs that don't feel the position end up with heavy overpursuit and backside clean release wide open guys...not to mention cut backs for the backs
