8/2 - Scrimmage Tweets

oh and judging by the playcalling, sounds like Lazor is going back to a favorite of his from UVA in the jet screen/swing pass. Which I think helps guys like Miller a lot.

DD Williams (the OU RB) looking good can only help him.

Sounds like McCain and Tripp are showing okay as LBs.

Labato was also just promoted up to 2nd team offense for now.

Yes, hope to see either McCain or Tripp starting soon, seems Wheeler is still having issues tackling.

But, what does WV say?

Speaking of pessimistic, I noticed few if any tweets from Omar or Armando.

Omar's response was "season is a marathon not a sprint". Armando has also been fairly quiet. If rumors are to be believed, his #DawnJoe articles when Ireland got him in some hot water with the team.

If (former Sooner) D Williams & Gillislee step then DT & possibly Moreno will be shown the door.

Omar is off and Mando was doing his blog.

Thanks. I thought that lousy journalism was exclusive to SLC. ROFL!

Tannehill's unofficial final stats from today's #Dolphins scrimmage: 15-27, 139 yards, 2TDs, 0 INTs

Pretty good day, would love to see a bit more completions, 55% is not exactly great, but Tannehill looks really good out there.

I just got charged $19.99 from my credit card without even knowing it for NFL Preseason. They better make it worth it.

Still not sold on the LBs or DBs outside of Misi and Grimes.

Misi will be fine at MLB. I'm worried about the Delmas/Jones combo. 2 super aggressive players that make bonehead mistakes and together can either completely take over games or lose us games. Wheeler will be awful unless he's relegated to blitzing and covering short zones. Ellerbe will be just average this year.

I have high hopes for Taylor, and think wheeler will be average, with Ellerbe being good.

Ya it'd be nice for that number to be a bit higher...he was also missing Clay for the most part, Hartline and Wallace.

Wheeler has just NOT been inspiring. Getting smoked by the 2 offense is never good...scrimmage or not.

How much of the offense do you think they are going to show in the preseason? I think we will see a lot of bubble screens, but I can't imagine them going too deep into the playbook.

Especially considering our 1st opponant pretty much loves to get information information any way possible, whether signing a cut player, or getting film from one of their possible spiesin the stand watching a practice or scrimmage.

Miami can't tip their hand what their new offense will look like until they meet the Patriots.

Well sounds like Tripp can surplant wheeler in the line up

Happy to see Miller continuing his very strong camp. He is a big key for us, and I expect a lot from him this season.

I think Damien Williams has a legit chance to show both the door. From what I've seen of him he works best in open space, on the edges and receiving out of the backfield. It seems his game is going to be perfectly suited for Lazor's offense. And he's consistently producing in TC and practice. He may need to improve pass blocking and blitz pickup, but I can't really recall any negative plays from him. He's always contributing when he touches the ball. He may not have NFL home run speed, but I think his skill set is at least equal to Miller's.

The ONLY plays we hear about DT are he runs up the middle and gains 2 yards. You can almost book it every time. It's pedestrian and I'm tired of him being on this team. I see no real value of him on the roster. If DT survives this year and Williams gets cut or PS, I question our ability to evaluate RBs.

Miller, Williams and Gilislee are my picks... in that order. And I think Moreno, Thigpen and Darkwa are fighting for the RB4. Each for different reasons.. not head to head. Thigpen's return value doesn't seem to have a legit competitor at this time.
