Looking at the standings right now there are 10 teams that will finish 6-10 or worse whichs means the 11th pick will go to a 7-9 team. There are 12 teams 7-8 or 8-7 which means without looking into the matchups in theory an 8-8 team could pick 22nd. Big difference between 7-9 and 8-8. I don't know the tiebreakers or which 7-9 team would pick 11th but now is the time to wonder if one more lose after a pretty fun season may be the best thing for the future of this team. Really two weeks from now will anyone care if we were 8-8 or 7-9?

I agree 100%. We are basically eliminated. I'd prefer for us to lose. There is no use in recording a win that in the long run doesn't matter at all.

want to win the steeler game, but sometimes you lose at the right time it helps the team, just like winning at the wrong time hurts it, would be nice to be inside 15 in the draft

The Dolphins play only 16 times a year (or more if they are lucky). I root for them to win.

Damn.. I'd love for us to finish 8-8, but picking at 11 instead of 22.. man..

That is potentially the difference between getting Berry(long shot, I know)/McClain/Spikes and well.. not getting them.

I will root for them to win. But secretly I would rather pick 11th than 17th

20 times minimum actually.
Still. That's only 20 times a year I get to root for my team. I won't stop rooting for them just to move up a few draft spots (and not even into top 10). Anyone who roots for us to lose is a loser and not a real fan.

So now you're going out and declaring yourself a superfan because you root for the Dolphins 20 times a year...:lol: Just because I don't see the point in getting a meaningless win doesn't make me any less of a fan than you. I want the better for the Dolphins in the future. What do I know though, I'm a loser and not a real fan because I want our team to lose one meaningless game so that we have a better draft pick. :rolleyes2:

How are they not real fans? Someone wants us to lose because we could potentially pick at 11 instead of 22, which would certainly net us a better shot at getting potential starters for the future of the team, whereas a win does nothing but get a "good job" to an average season, unless we make the playoffs which has like a 10 percent chance of happening.

Either way, we have no outcome on the game, so stop bitching about who's a real fan. We're all real fans here.

:thanks::up::hi5:

I never watch a game hoping for us to lose (minus the 2007 season).

I'm going into the next game hoping to win, and praying all the dominoes fall a certain way that will pull off the miracle and send the Dolphins to the playoffs, as we should all thrive off of hope right now.

There aren't many teams (usually) that can say they have a chance at the playoffs going into week 17, we should appreciate that. We can worry about the draft after the season.

It's bigger than just a pick.. Everyone looks at the first round pick. But they will get a higher pick in EVERY round where they have an original pick.

I am not saying you specifically, but a lot of people do miss that very important point.. Miami can potentially get 3+ good players they wouldn't have gotten otherwise.
