I've been following the Dolphins for over 40 years and cannot remember
going 8 games without a rushing td. Any concerns?
Solutions? Appreciate your input

We struggle to get any touchdowns but imo a weak offensive line and poor run scheme are the biggest factors.

I gotta believe the O-Line is the culprit. Miami has invested first round picks, FA pro-bowlers etc... yet it is a constant sorrow. Dudes are injured all the time and try to play through it, stay out of practice, they are nursed and coddled by the coaches. My dream is that the next best coach (like many think of Gase, or maybe as Burke is proving this year with the D) would grab hold of the O-Line and fix it. Throwing resources at it, babying it, praying for it just ain't working. Someone has to OWN it.

I fault some of it on play calling. Been a few times I was furious we decided to pass to no avail inside the 5.

they are going to force moore or cutler to throw it in as much as possible...

sooner or later ajayi will break one in...probably won't be inside the 10 either....

Exactly, our oline gets really exposed in a short field or obvious passing or run downs. If the opposing team knows what we are going to do it's almost automatic the result is a loss of a down.

This is where offensive creativity has to come into play. Second and short, usually an automatic run when we should seek a big play on occasion.

I don't want to be a conspiracy theorist or anything... but do you think it has anything to do with the OL not being able to open run lanes and entire opposing teams are focused on not letting Ajayi rip off any long TD's? Just a wild guess.

Offensive line has been bad in general when it comes to run blocking. Ajayi is averaging under 4 ypc while consistently running hard and breaking tackles. That says all.

When we get into goal line situations and the defense stacks the box.....our line is no match. Ajayi won't score in many of those situations this season. He'll have to break one.

Up until today we have essentially faced a goal-line defense every snap.

Oline isnt opening holes.

We havent been in the redzone very often, and when we have, we have scored a TD (or threw a pick) through the air on our first try.

We have been playing from behind alot.

Give it time, I dont think it will be long before Ajayi puts in a multi TD game.

Season stats back you up. Only 14 plays inside the opponents 10 yard line. 10 of them pass attempts and 4 runs. On the other hand the passing has resulted in 6 TD's in 10 tries which isn't to bad. Seems like they are taking what the defense is giving when they get there. They just need to get there a lot more often....

:pompusI think Gase is being sneaky. We don't play NE until late in the season and he doesn't want them to know we can do it. They will not game plan for it and we sneak it on them the first game we play them in our 54-0 win. It's like the wildcat all over again.

I like it!!! Except,it would probably take us two games to score 54 points,LOL...

10 man fronts

hard to run the rock

This right here. With as feeble as our passing game has been opposing defenses have just stacked the box on us and not given Ajayi room to run. Obviously the OL is an issue but if he was running against 7 or less in the box he would be doing much better even with this OL. His talent has shown this. My hope is that our passing game picks up and that frees up the run.

I am one of those believers that the passing game opens up the run, not the other way around.
