The matchup vs NE this Sunday will be our 800th football game played since our last Super Bowl victory.

Record since victory over Vikings in Super Bowl.

435- 363-1

5 decades of failure to repeat as champion. I never thought I would wait 800 games for history to repeat. Wondering if I will ever see it at this point.

I remember playing basketball at Miller Park and matter of factly announcing that we would rush for at least 200 yards against the Vikings.

Everyone agreed. I'm still annoyed it didn't happen, or that we attempted any passes at all.

The 800 might as well be 8000. Who cares? I savored the glory era and didn't kid myself that it would always be that way. Actually the quick emergence of the Steelers dynasty enabled clarity in that regard. In January 1974 I believed Shula would win some more.

The '80s emergence of the Canes more than made up for the Dolphins' deficit, especially since the title-winning team was still in the Orange Bowl while the other program ran away to irrelevant cheap land in Miami Gardens.

They’ve never made it in my lifetime. Closest woulda been the 1992 AFCG. I’ve also never seen them win a playoff game in my adult life.

Ugh. So many years ago when I was a young lad. Haven't forgotten it to this day. So close and yet so far over the years. Hope we don't make it to 1000.

Now both Miami teams are suffering the same fate as In no championships or fan support

I became a fan in 1970 at age 10. But, I was just a kid running around playing, so I never saw those Super Bowl wins. When I was an adult and out of the Army in 1982, I was finally able to follow the Fins more closely (which means that I would see them play only when they were televised up here in PA), only to see them lose Super Bowls to Washington and San Francisco. They've gone from being the winningest franchise in sports history to being irrelevant for many years now. What really sucks is being used to seeing them get my hopes up once in a while only to choke and remain the losers that they are. It would be nice to see them be a consistently good team again before I go!
