Not that any of us expected him to play this week, but hes gettin close

DAVIE - Anyone hoping that Mike Pouncey would have a miraculous recovery and get medically cleared to play in Sunday's season-opener against the New England Patriots better brace themselves for disappointment.
Pouncey, the Dolphins' Pro Bowl center, continued his rehab work during Tuesday's practice as Samson Satele handled the starting center spot.
While Pouncey wasn't kept on the PUP list, making him eligible to play in his first six games of the season, the odds of him playing against the Patriots in the season opener are slim.
Pouncey is two months into rehabbing his surgically repaired hip, which was initially given a two to three month rehabilitation process. It is likely that he'll need two to three weeks to get himself into playing shape.

I think the Dolphins would love to get by without him these first 4 games and then hit the bye week and have him ready to go when we play vs. the Packers.

If Samson seriously struggles or we have a major injury, he could probably be ready sooner.

i think that's right. A lot depends on Samson. If he's at least ok don't rush Pouncy back.

As much as a meat head as Poucey is....the dude does work hard at his job and I wouldn't be surprised if he did suit up for the London Game

I hate the idea of him playing in London. Long flight stiffens you up, only a week of snaps with the OL. I'd rather him just take the bye week and work with the OL for two weeks and really get in sync before GB

You are right. But the chance to play in the London game seems like a great motivating factor to him. It was only a few weeks ago that Armando declared that he would miss half the season. Pouncey showing great determination to get back has actually impressed me. I'm rooting for him to make the London game.
London is one of the most interesting cities in the world to visit. Lots to see and do.

Who the heck thought he'd be ready for the season opener?

Just the fact that they mention week one is great news. It looks like Pouncey is only going to miss 2-3 games and has worked hard to miss as little as possible. Interesting that there are so few posts in this thread. Of course if it were bad news, we would see 24 pages of lengthy 'I told ya so' posts from all the sanctimonious "realists"
