Tannehill and Moore said they have been given no indication by coaches that Tannehill could be lifted if he struggles early vs. Oakland.

Matt Moore, asked if this whole thing is awkward: "A little bit, considering I'm answering questions like Cam Newton."

Tannenhill needs to shut the hell up. Play better and you won't face adversity and push from your own coach. The entire past 3 years they coddled him and made him the golden boy. Well its gotten us nowhere.

Maybe he needs to finally face adversity. I disagree with people saying this is a bad approach. The "coddle Tannenhill" approach has gotten us nowhere.

Put him on notice in private, then? Why create a media controversy? It's sucking in the other players too, who are having to field questions about it. How awkward is it to be Matt Moore right now? Clay? Hartline? Wallace? And they're talking in private to the media about it, not just the public questions. Omar Kelly said that players were questioning the situation in private. That's bad.

I initially liked the idea of putting him on notice, but it sounds like that's not even what happened. Apparently what happened is that Joe Philbin is just sticking to his guns on something as stupid as... not declaring whether or not any specific player will start at their position.

That just seems nuts to me.

Matt Moore's quote is awesome.

When Joe loses this team at some point this year it is going to be very, very bad. It is a matter of when, not if.

the way this is going a terrible showing in london i wouldnt be surprised if philbin was fired during the bye week...just win sunday and let some of this die down

I agree. A win will do wonders for our club. Who knows what happens after the bye. If Miami loses .... well .... all you know what may hit the fan

Whatever gets Trusnick off the field.

Yeah, Id rather have Misi play on one leg than watch Trusnick suck it up out there.

Wishful thinking. Unfortunately Ross is the man in charge. And he might be the one man in the world with less guts than Philbin. No way he's fired before the end of the season....and even then I don't think he's gone unless we finish with less than 6 wins.

After last year of being in the spotlight of the media and fans claiming it was horrible situation to be in, it seems that many just crave the ridiculous drama that gets stirred up by national sports entertainers (aka reporters).

i saw something that said the raiders have lost their last 9...if they break that streak against us then i can't imagine what this place will be like during the bye week

They gave the Patriots a good game last week. Their pass defense is solid. They can run the ball.

Tough game and between the odd travel, the controversy, and the garbage ass football the Dolphins have been playing, I think I might like Oakland in this one. In fact, I do like Oakland in this one.

From the early episodes of Hard Knocks, it was obvious to me that Joe was a lousy communicator and was ridiculous with some his silly rules.

FWD to last year, there is the Martin/Incognito mess.

Come to today and Joe is getting killed because of his butchering of RT.

What exactly has Joe Philbin brought to the Dolphins in his three years? What a terrible selection.

This "QB controversy" has gotten out of hand in the media. Other than a few rabid posters here, I dont think there's anyone (who expects to be taken seriously) that thought Tannehill wouldn't actually start against Oakland. Our OC even said immediately after Philbin's presser that Tannehill would start. Tannehill and Matt Moore even said Tannehill would start. There's never really been a question as to who would start.

Philbin has his share of gaffes, but putting it out there that a QB change is always an option was not one of them imo. And Tannehill needs to know that his job security is based on performance.

Fins win ugly, but it is a win. They go into the bye 2-2 and have a chance to get some injured players back and re-set.

Oakland sucks. They are not nearly as good as you are making them out to be.

Hope you're right, dude, but you know what this game reminds me of? Bucs. Last season.

Only difference maybe is that Schiano at least could get some emotion out of his players. They hated his guts. I think Dennis Allen is just Joe Philbin with hair, from what I've seen.

I got the Raiders as well. Aside from this self inflicted circus Philbin created, it's obvious this team plays with no emotion and looks unprepared at the start. The defense can't stop the run, can't tackle and of course the numerous issues on the offensive side. The biggest obstacle is the coaching staff which is arguably one of the worst in the NFL.

If my prediction is correct, Ross should fire Philbin and let him find his own way back across the pond.
