I think that says it all.
Marvin Lewis has been Cinncy coach for14 years.
In that time he Fins have had 9 different coaches.
The Bengals have been consistent playoff contenders.
Dolphins have been consistent doormats.
They need to stop the constant changes.

Make it 10, and hurry it the **** up.

But he HC can't be chosen by the current FO or it's fruitless.

Which of the nine coaches do you wish had stayed longer? I can't think of a single one.

i know people hate Saban for leaving. But he did do ok w a crappy QB situation (that was his doing of course). I think he would have figured it out and become an excellent NFL coach. If you look back, the team started slow under him but seemed to play up to its potential as the season went on with pretty good win streaks and respectable finishes. The team was more fundamentally sound but had a lack of talent. With more talent (if they could have drafted well) I think we would have become a contender like a Baltimore.

I agree, I think Saban would have figured it out and been a great coach. It's too bad his wife cut his balls off and put them in a glass jar above the mantle

Saban was an excellent coach, but his massive ego wouldn't let him absorb a few losing seasons on his record at the expense of building an excellent franchise. And he had to disassociate himself with his bad quarterback decision. Saban knew his "brand" would be alive and well back in the college ranks.

Well, first of all, I don't think the query about who deserved more time applies to Saban or JJ since they left of their own accord and management certainly didn't want them to go. That said, Saban would not have been successful here because his personnel decisions were as awful as anyone's before or since. The drafts under him were abominable; that 2006 draft was one of the worst of all time and Ronnie Brown at #2 overall is one of the worst value picks ever. What's more, he refused to commit to rebuilding which is what this franchise desperately needed in 2005 since it had just been driven off a cliff.

Could Saban be a successful NFL coach one day? Sure. Was that happening in Miami ten years ago? No chance.

People wonder how Tannehill can remain the QB despite never having a winning record, how about Marvin Lewis being with Cincy for 14 years and not having a single playoff win?

Bill Parcells because he took this'n and beat Bill Belichicks'n, and would take just about any'n and beat theirs'n.

And it's just too bad he wasn't fully invested for the long haul with the Dolphins, because eventually we would have been a perrenial threat to the Patriots if not favorites.

what if Saban gave up GM duties?

That's the point.
Couldn't this owner in 14 years of trying, have found just 1 successful coach or GM for that matter to build a franchise with?

The constant changes would stop if we could find a great GM and front office people to go along with a great coach who hires top assistants
