Today, we’ll take a look at defensive end Charles Harris.

Alot of talk about Raekwon McMillan coming back, im more excited about this guys development and he doesn't get alot of mention.

If his flashes from last season become more consistent he'll be huge for the defense. He has the right mentality, maturity and from what I seen the potential to take it up a few notches this season. Here's to hoping that happens

I see a lot of ppl down on the kid, to the point of calling it a wasted pick. I disagree.

Everyone knew coming in that he was going to take a year, maybe two, to develop. The skill set was there, but he needed to hit the weight room, and work in the technical aspects of the position. He got limited playing time, so his stats were actually not that bad.

He will be an asset this year, and years to come.

We have a hockey style line up that should keep everyone fresh during the game. Depth and durability are huge. I think each guy brings a different skill set that will be used to exploit match ups

You get 3 years to prove what you are, he's only had 1 year so I'm not ready to call it a wasted pick yet. Chris Doleman (4th overall pick) only had 3.5 sacks his first 2 years before he came on strong his 3rd year with 11. He ended up with 150 sacks. As long as Harris shows improvement year to year I'm ok with giving him 2 more years before I give up on him.

I agree. 3 years in you can make a fair judgment. I think its a good thing, the way rookie contracts are controlled the way they are. Teams have kind if a built in time frame before they have to pay out that big $ second contract.

Well said, couldn't agree more.

He's going to be THE breakout player for the Dolphins this year. Just a gut feeling. Double digit sacks

I can't see him putting up much numbers this yr. he plays on the same side as Quinn and branch unless one of those 3 guys can move to the right. I feel it's a bit of an overkill on DE's while still having holes on DT's. And I'm in no way sold on Philips lazy ass. Easily my least fav player on the team. If he couldn't make it happen next to Suh he ain't going to make it happen next to the other guys. I pray I'm wrong

I don't see much of a future here for Phillips either. Even if he has a good year, it's a contract year. I would be afraid to sign him to a long term, big money contract. If he reverts to the lazy, no motor player we've come to know, it would set the team back bigly.

Harris's stats are tough to predict. We've been sold on rotating DL spots. How that pans out us anybody's guess, at this point.

They have once again positioned themselves for life after Wake. Didn't they do that three years ago?

I see Branch as the odd man out.

I'm just hoping he can get more snaps this season. Possibly stupid question but can he play LB? He looked really athletic during his pro-day at Missouri. I don't want his talents wasted up until his last year of his contract here and then he goes on to another team and blows the hell up.

I'm not going to say "stupid", but if you are suggesting changing a young players positions to LB? All that did for Tunsil was make him be a rookie twice.

I think he might be too slow to play LB didn't he run like a 4.8? I think to be that slow and play LB you need exceptional LB instincts like Zach Thomas

We live in a microwave society. People want things now. It doesn't work like that though. You'd think recent history would show you that it takes a few years for a DE to develop, but nope! If he doesn't look like Lawrence Taylor from game one, out come the pitchforks. Ridiculous.

DIdn't Harris have some draft projections as LB? Maybe it was in 3-4 though.
