It’s time for the next installment of our Phinsider 90-in-90 series, an annual overview of the Miami Dolphins’ roster. Every day, we take a look at another player on the team’s offseason roster, breaking down what they did in 2017, why they could progress in 2018, why they could regress in 2018, and whether we think they will make the regular season 53-man roster. Thus far, we’ve covered wide receiver Leonte Carroo, punter Matt Haack, safety T.J. McDonald, and undrafted free agent Buddy Howell. Today, we continue with wideout DeVante Parker.

DVP will continue to provide only glimpses of the player we thought we were getting when he was drafted.

Injury prone
Inconsistent ability to separate
Lack of professionalism

The Phins need to move on from Devante after the season, his upside is sky high, we know this, but with injuries year after this is a player that can't be trusted to stay healthy even if he has a breakout season this year. This is a perfect example of being proactive, get rid of players a year early instead of a year late.

but if he has a breakout year then it'd mean he was healthy. Hard to get rid of a player that just had a great year so that's not gonna happen. If he has another ok year then they'll probably try to move him.

Devante Parker has been frustrating to watch. On some days he makes some of the most incredible catches that only a handful of players can make in the league, and then on others he just disappears from the game. I do think the Dolphins were smart to exercise the fifth year option. He has the potential to be a star and is young. Time will tell if he can stay healthy but I do like his chances considering we have Tannehill back, it's his 4th year, and he seems to be approaching the game like a pro.

You resign your studs until you aquire their replacements. Don't see that guy in the roster yet. In the meanwhile IMO bubble wrap him in practice and play him a bit more less in games and attempt to get him through the season. Also give him.lots of medical attention and plenty of PT to attempt to keep him healthy. Lots of WR talent on this team keeping it healthy and constintly on the field this year.will be key for Ryan T this year. Not counting on this to happen based on past performances but am hopeful. Part of the reason Laundry was so successful here IMO as he was about the only consistent offensive weapon to show up every game that our QBs could count on.

Yes it would mean he is healthy, but would you trust him enough to remain that way by giving him a multi year contract? Think about it for a minute, he would have remain healthy 1 full year since he has been drafted. Cut ties now and let him become someone's else's problem.

It's too bad really, because I thought the guy would've been a star by now. His injuries just seem to linger and even when he's not missing games, he disappears. Him and Tannehill had good chemistry and he played well that latter part of '16. I'd be hesitant to lock him up tho, even if he busts out this year. Let's just get thru '18 first and hope he has a great year. We need him to!

This is a put up or shut up year for Parker. If he doesn't finally step up and start being the player he's capable of in 2018 then he needs to be sent packing.
