Today, we take a look at third-year wide receiver Jakeem Grant.

Like Grant, but think some people have too high expectations for a guy that could be the teams number 4 or 5 wide receiver. Unless the team has injuries in the receiving corp I would not expect more than 20-25 receptions from Grant in 2018. I expect Parker, Stills, Amendola, Wilson, Gesicki and Drake to finish the year with more receptions. If Wilson bombs Grant could move up a bit but will likely still be behind the other five.

Such a tough kid, so much talent as well as a good head on his shoulders.

In terms of acceleration, agility, balance and reactions, he is absolutely off the charts, he also has a good bit of long speed to go with it.

If he can continue to improve on his negatives I think you could easily say his potential to grow is top 5 on our team.

I do agree that his biggest obstacle this year is simply the fact that we brought in 2 receivers to replace Landry, drafted a TE in the 2nd round, pass catching RB in the 4th, etc. I think there will be too few footballs to go around this year, someones numbers will end up looking bad regardless of play.

We've at least advanced past the "he's a bust and can't ever learn to not fumble" stage that many on the board were proclaiming as fact last summer. I'm hopeful that he will get opportunities to make some big plays.

I'd be shocked if this kid doesn't earn a 2nd contract from the Miami Dolphins. His failure would surprise me a lot more than his success.

The array of weaponry/body type's at the skill positions is jaw dropping.

Still a long way to go from potential to production. I am not changing a thing at WR, TE or RB right now if I could.

Seems like Wilson and Grant will be competing for the same playing time to me, am i wrong? Throw in Amendola and thats 3 small fast guys im wondering how they will fit in together.

I think its pretty hard to elaborate on 2018 targets at this point. All of these guys have specific skillsets that differ from one another and none of them are considered an all around great WR at this point.

With that in mind, in game situations will have alot of weight into who's on the field and who gets the targets. The running game for one will have alot of say here... what will the Fins 3rd downs look like on average? Will the OL struggle to enable longer developping routes for Parker, Stills and Grant? Or will they barely provide enough time for short timing route to Wilson and Amendola types...? You've got to account for all of that and more, which makes this very hard to predict imo...

No one on this team can do what Grant does. Gase would be a fool not to implement special packages for him.

He should easily and at minimum get 5 - 10 touches on the offensive part of the game every Sunday.

Who is the best WR to win a superbowl trophy in the last 10 years? Demaryius Thomas, Alshon Jeffrey and Plaxico Burress would head my debate. Unless I'm missing someone.

Only the Rams and Colts title's run's featured bona fide hall of fame talent and those teams were built around those WR's. (each having two pro bowl caliber WR's)

My point?

Versatility wins.

Not Antonio Brown. Not Odell Beckham. Not AJ Green. Not Randy Moss. Not Terrell Owens.

Julio Jones got close and now he wants more money.

You can't win paying WR's buttloads of cash.

THANKFULLY Jarvis Landry is not being paid by the Miami Dolphins. THANK FREAKING GOD.

If Grant were on another team, with the same production and usage that we've seen in Miami, what would you be willing to trade for him? For example has he shown enough on his receptions and punt returns to warrant trading a 3rd or 4th round pick? If he were a a free agent would you pay him more than Amendola or Wilson received?
