according to my calculations, which are at most one or two off, the Dolphins have 95 players on there roster. Dont teams usually go into traing camp with like 80 to 85. If we keep all 95 till first cut, we would cut 30 players at first cut to get down to 65. My thought then is maybe we will cut a few players before training camp starts next week.

Also, I figured that we have 70 notable players, and 25 guys like Orrin Thompson and Sideeq Shabazz. Thats alot of name players. We will end up cutting atleast 17 guys who are notable, either who were on the team last year, were signed from a different team this year, or were drafted by the team this year. The exceptions to that are Marcus Vick and Gerald Riggs Jr., who I deemed notable, even though they were undrafted free agents.

We keep so many people because some UDFA and/or young veterans can be quite surprising. We are currently pursuing a UDFA in Jason Berryman.

10 or so are exempt til the final cut because they played in Europe-seems to me Nick is all about amassing large amounts of the best talent he can find and then seeing who will dig down deep to prevail-something this team has lacked for a long time

:yeahthat:

I believe they must trim the roster to 89 by the time Camp Starts. So if that # is correct, then expect some cuts this week sometime. Unless some players are exempt for some reason or another.

The first cuts will be players we have never heard of.Players who were signed before more desirable players were signed.

We have 80 regular players signed and 6 draft picks who don't yet count because they haven't signed. (I know two have been annouced but I think their paperwork is held until camp starts) When the 6 come to camp, 6 others will have to be cut before camp even starts. Then there are Brock Berlin, Jamal Broussard, Emmanuel Akah, Orrin Thompson, Matt Sinclair, Sideeq Shabazz, Art Thomas, and Ola Kimrin who have NFLE exemptions and don't count against the roster until the final cut.

If my math is correct we should have 94 listed. But my count says its 95 like yours does so I don't know who the last guy is and how he is still listed on the roster.

Hey I found the 95th guy. Travis Harris, LB, also has an NFLE exemption. So the count is 80 + 6 draft picks not yet counted + 9 NFLE exemptions = 95. We will be down to 89 on Friday.
