24-10. We just intercepted Mariotta. Our previous two possessions were 3 and out. 1st down on our own 3 yard line.

In the past we would have played the "protect the lead" game. Run-Run-short throw-punt (or any variations thereof). We would have punted and the Titans would have gotten the ball back - most likely in our half and the momentum could have changed.

So what do we do? Out of our own endzone we throw deep and complete to Stills. If he would have not slipped he still may be running. It was a gutsy call, a terrific execution by Tannehill and Stills, great sell of a run, good protection and kick starting our best drive I have seen in years. Going 97 yards with a TD is a fantastic way of closing out a game and put the dagger into the hearts of the opposition. One can argue that it was only the Titans but let's not forget they were top ranked in passing yards.

TBH before that drive with our 3 and out possessions I expected to show that ugly Dolphins face again: lead, hang on to it just to be run over again and probably lose.

It may not show in the final score or on the stat sheet but that drive was extremely important in so many ways.

Wow. I watched the game well at work and missed this drive. I had to watch the highlight several times. Perfect touch and accuracy downfield. I wish we could see more of that from Tannehill. If he can nail these types of passes he'd be a complete QB. Great play.

Was at the game and this play happened right in front of me. Yes, Tannihill threw a nice pass, but it was slightly under thrown . Stills had a couple of steps on the defender and if he had led him a little more it would have been 97 yard TD pass. But all is good, they scored anyway.

Great post. I hope the offense causes you to post them every week.

Heck yeah man, that was great response. I like the way we didn't let up after that first pass to stills, seemed like the O just kept the pedal down. That was definitely a nice drive to see them pull off and put to rest any doubts about the game. Good stuff.

It was as well executed of a drive as anybody could expect. I have seen us in a two minute offense before. We have played fast before but that drive: I sat there with my mouth wide open wondering if it was the Packers or the Pats I was watching. Heck we even overcame a 10-yard penalty which in the past was always our drive killer. It was aggressively called, to perfection executed and the Titans D never had a chance. We literally willed our game onto them.

What? He hit stills in stride and there was a safety there too

Was at the game and couldn't disagree with you more. Stills didn't slow down to catch it at all, in fact he had to speed up a tad to catch it. Couldn't have been better in any way at all

That long pass to Stills was a thing of beauty. Perfectly executed by QB and receiver.

I told you that I give Tannehill a clean slate. Philbin was the last survivor of 2012. I stated many times that I wish I would know if Tannehill cannot do certain things and Lazor just held back because of that or if Lazer is just a bad play caller or did Philbin have his thumb ontop of everything. Maybe I have gotten my answer today.
Tannehill's stats are somewhat similar from game 1. Though he has 2 INTs today I thought he played better than against the Skins. Something else I saw toady: Tannehill threw two INTs (not saying his fault). In the past he went into a spiral and got worse as the game went on. Philbin coddling him during those games didn't help much. Campbell and Lazor did exactly what they should do: You just threw an INT. Who cares? Here is the next pass play. I don't even look at the 2 INTs. He played a pretty darn good game today. Not perfect but darn good.

That ball was not under thrown, Stills did not separate from the defender but the ball was PERFECT!

That never happens if Failbin is here throwing deep back against goal line makes him queesy

I just watched this play 10 times. I don't think any QB present or past could have thrown it any better. It was literally a perfect throw in perfect stride to Stills. RT17 can't make the safety disappear!
