OK, This is getting annoying, irritating, and pathetic. How can some of you so-called fans or experts want Cleo Lemon to start when he does not even know the name of the author of the playbook. What's wrong with you...He needs QB school and training camp to be able to throw some passes, not 1 week of training.

I know we are desperate for a QB, But I'm ready to bet that most of you compulsive fans never heard of Cleo Lemon until we signed him last week. I never heard of him either.

Who me?

I never heard of Tom Brady prior to him starting.

Edit: And don't vilify me for comparing the two. At that point in Brady's career he was a nobody.

I knew Cleo Lemon from preseason as I've seen him play in some games for the Chargers. I admit I don't much about him and never followed him in college but I knew who he was since pre-season and I knew immediately who it was we were trading for when I heard the news.

Same.

i watched the chargers/packers game on ESPN to see aaron rodgers, and was surprised at lemon's play becuase i never heard of him

Bro I am not calling for him to start. It will take 4-6 weeks for him just to get up to speed. What I think is towards the end of the season or intraining camp next year there will be competition.:)

there was one facetious thread started about him getting the job a week after he's been here, but I didn't know it was a requirement that to be good you had to be a name player.

Most of the people here wouldn't have known about Muellers QB situation in 2000 if it hadn't been brought to their attention.

In the age of video games, most people equate a player being good if they're rated 90 or better on Madden. I guarantee that tons of people looked at Lemon's rating on the game and concluded that he sucked, just because he was rated low.

Nobody here is truly believing that a player will start right after they get here.

In another 6 weeks, could a football player potentially run a stripped down playbook if need be? Absolutely.

A lot of what Lemon does can be improvised. The pocket collapses, he can make plays with his feet.

Say Sage starts into December, yet recreates Gus' 2005 pro bowl numbers....would it hurt to see Lemon in there for the final few games to see what he could do? No, and seeing as he's the only QB under 400 on our roster for next season, why not see what he has against some real defenses? Certainly can't hurt....

Exactly!!!!! if anyone is going to start over Ferrotte, it better damn be Sage. He should get the shot next week because Gus is downright ineffective (which is a pretty loose description if you ask me) in the red zone.

Whats up...?

Mod Edit: I don't know what is up there, nor do I intend to find out by asking, in the future do not bypass the profanity filter. WB3

I saw Cleo play in the preseason and thought he looked good. However, it is WAY too soon to consider him for a starting spot. Maybe in 6 weeks. Not only does he have to learn the offense, but, it will be a much slower process because he wont get very many reps.

If we are 4-9, I say let him start the last few games if Sage had failed to get it done and he knows the system.

Right now? Way too soon for him.
