Terrible draft thus far


NEGATIVES: Lacks the top deep arm. Over-aged prospect.
ANALYSIS: A signal caller with excellent intangibles and field vision, Beck could effectively back up in a West Coast offense. PROJECTION: Early Fifth Round
 
Yeah. The age issue of Beck is a good thing. It brings maturity. Assuming we get Green, Beck will start next year for sure, if not this year when Green goes down with an injury.

I watched him throw a beautiful 70 yard ball on youtube not 3 mins ago
 
he's only 25 right now but yes by the start of the season he will be 26 but all that means is he will be ready to start sooner. he is the 3rd best if not the 2nd best QB in the whole draft, he is going to be good for us. great pick

Every other analysis I've seen had a second-round grade on him. Among the second-round QBs, he had the best buzz going into the draft.
 
The Beck pick is smart and possibly alludes to Cam and Mueller having him rated higher than Quinn. Some SI blogline doesn't mean squat, everyone has their mock drafts. Mort on ESPN even said Beck can become a Drew Brees type. You guys are really looking to just pile it on now. It's embarassing.
 
We should have taken Drew Stanton or Trent Edwards. In six or seven years, Beck will already start to decline.

Beck is old. You don't take old players in the 2nd round... 26 years old in AUGUST? FRONT OFFICE FTL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fans should be booing these draft picks.

Funny, because Schefter, Kiper, etc. ALL have 2nd round grades on him.

The lowest grade I've seen = round 3.

The highest I've seen = the possibility of Chicago/Baltimore in round 1!

He may be 26, but maybe your looking too negatively on the situation. Look on the positive, look how good our offseason went and how many draft picks we aquired. It seems Randy and Cam have it going on more than anyone has since Shula left. Let's hope the right choice was made.

Even if Beck is on the decline in six or seven years, who cares? He gave assumingly six or seven years of solid quarterback play that can potentially make us solid contenders again. Then draft another quarterback before he's gone. :)
