Like it or not, we need LIneman not RB's. Leonard Henry and Sammy Morris can carry the load. But we're not going anywhere until we start upgrading that horrible line of ours.

How many of you were sickened while watching the linemen ***** foot around while their QB gets blindsided. I can't believe DW isn't still yelling at those guys to have a little heart/character and stand up for your QB who's standing in there and taking major league shots.

I'd trade Madison AND Freeman for OG Shields and C/G Bober.

That to me would be a better upgrade.

OLINE is the most important element on a team. I'm convinced of it now.

Madison has something crazy like a 6 Million dollar cap hit if we trade/release him. Can we please stop making threads about trying to trade him?

KC wouldn't part with Shields in a million years. He has been a Chief forever and will retire a Chief.

I like the trade for an OL instead cuz its def the OL and not the RB, wasnt Bober a free agent this season, who we looked at and didnt sign. We didnt sign him B4 and now we want to trade for him, no thanks on that one

Folks can make whatever threads they like. They may not be realistic but we aren't forced to read them and reply to them?? At least I'm not.

 I'm a mod and generally try to read all the threads so I don't have that luxary. I'm not saying he can't make the thread if he reaaaaly wants to, but honestly can we think about it before we suggest it?

That's a good reference for whether or not we can trade someone.

No need to kill the messenger here. I was simply commenting on the radio report and the sunsentinal article that said that KC had contacted us about a Larry Johnson trade and that we were discussing a DB because THAT'S what KC needs.

No if you think about it there are really three guys who would fit the bill for us:

Surtain, Madison and Freeman. We are all aware of the salary cap consequences, however if it's an even trade - pro bowler for pro bowler, sometimes, deals can get worked out.

No need to jump down my throat for expressing the point that we should be concentrating on OLINE not RB.

Thanks.

Don't be so sensetive...the idea is just stupid thats all. Its all good...people say stupid things. Message board culture.

Oh and by the way, there are ways to work around the cap hit. Madison's hit is 6 to us, Shields' hit is in fact a bit more should they trade him, so it's not impossible. I did do a little research on it.

Dude...do you even consider what your saying before you say it? Shields is as old as Bowens...a 12 year vet.

This season is toast, you don't start trying to bring in old lineman to patch this team with now.

Old or not, he is still the best guard in the game right now.

just what we need another o-lineman when the ones we have cannot even gel. There is a lot of talent on that o-line none who have played together. Swapping out a whole line in camp is just crazy on any measure. Not saying it was not needed because it was, but dont get on the fat guys cause they need a little time. The qb does as well and saying that sit back and watch them grow together, its not going to be pretty so dont expect miracles.

It's actually 13 not 12, but he's still playing at a high level and there is something to be said for veteran leadership, something we threw out with the bathwater last year.

Madison is a great player. I DON'T WANT to trade him, however IF we are considering it, then let's get some players who've proven their worth and let's get them at the more important positions. Shields may be 13 years in, but he's a winner and he can BLOCK. If you get three good years out of him at that spot (RG) then it's worth it because we ain't keepin Madison longer than that.

The bigger point is that it's OLine that we should be looking for, NOT RB.

What makes you think this guy will not start losing it about the time this team is ready? Bowens is slipping and he's the same age. I also don't agree hes the best guard in the game.
