A big reason why Jabba the Schmuck hates us

It was the summer of 1989 when Buddy Ryan, coaching in Philadelphia, said when asked about playing the Dolphins in that upcoming season, " `You want as many patsies on your schedule as possible,`` he said.

The next year, after a 20-10 preseason win against the Dolphins, Ryan said, "We didn`t play well, while Miami played about as well as they can play."

All this was a pointed jab at Don Shula. Their history went back to 1969, when Buddy was defensive coordinator of the Jets team that upset Shula's Baltimore team in the Super Bowl. When Ryan was fired from Philadelphia in 1991 without winning anything much, Don Shula looked down from his throne and said, "Normally I have sympathy (when coaches are fired). Today I don`t."

Flash forward to today: Ain't it grand to have another Ryan around talking smack?

what they don't include in that article though, is that Buddy Ryan was the defensive coordinator of the 85 Bears...and while the Bears were on their way to a sure fire perfect season they had to go down to miami and play shula and marino...

It's well known how Shula's gameplan and Marino's arm dismantled that great defense by having Marino roll out of the pocket multiple times on the way to a 38-24 rout...it is documented that at halftime ditka and ryan almost came to blows because of the rape we were delivering

Marino's complete arsenal was at work when he cracked holes in Buddy Ryan's infamous "46" defense.

Ryan's "46" defense had allowed 10 points or fewer in nine of Chicago's first 12 games and had not allowed a touchdown in 13 quarters when it headed to Miami on Dec. 2, 1985, just four games away from becoming the second team in NFL history to go through a season perfect. The league's most feared team was seemingly getting better each week, outscoring its past three opponents 104-3.

But with the 1972 Dolphins on the sidelines looking for the present team to save their legacy as the league's only perfect team, the media frenzy was wild. A local Miami television station even went to a zoo during the week to interview a dolphin and a bear.

Whether that's how Don Shula and Marino were able to solve the Bears' famed defense or not, the Dolphins were able to put together a game plan that ripped apart the Bears as Miami cruised to a 38-24 victory.

rex ryan was watching the game at home in anticipation of another bears win which would be celebrated with his daddy taking him to the local buffet...after the game the loss was so devastating that buddy couldn't stomach any food (for once) and didn't take him.

we cost rex ryan a meal, and he has never forgotten that anger towards us.

No, they did interviews at the zoo because Rex was adopted but the court had SEALed the documents.

:up::lol::lol::lol:

I nearly spit my drink out all over my computer. I can just picture a younger Rex Ryan crying cause daddy wasnt gonna take him out to Old Country Buffet for dinner.:boohoo::boohoo::lol2:

Buddy had a few shining moments as an HC, but outwore his welcome everywhere and ended up with exactly a .500 record. Between their inbred daddy, Marvin Lewis (excluding this season so far), Mike Nolan and Jack Del Rio, Rex and Rob's head coaching tree is worse than mediocre. Ozzie Newsome was smart enough to realize that as DC, Rex epitomized The Peter Principle topping out his level of potential and competence.

....and who handed ol Buddy his final regular season loss as a head coach? The Dolphins!

here's hoping they schedule Dolphins/Jests for week 17 next year so we can say the same about Rex!!

It could also be that he is a big flamming pyle of green dog poop.

He and his players keep focusing on the Dolphins, and the Jaguars may slide past them. You don't play us again until 2010 Rex!

Looks like that long-awaited Buffet dinner will have to wait another year... It's only been nearly 25 years.
