Guys and girls -- you all know me to be a Dolphan Realist. I've taken a lot of flak for calling a spade a spade, here on this board. I've faulted Ireland and Philbin for what I perceive as incredibly stupid moves re: talent acquisition, or as the case may be, LACK of talent acquisition. Personally, I think it's massive hubris that allows a coach to sign a manifestly mediocre play to a skill position, time after time, and pretend that he'll be "coached up." We're suffering hugely from that misconception, imo. I called many moves as "bite us in the butt" moves when they were happening... so I'm NOT surprised to find the offense struggling. I won't be surprised if we lose tonight. Nor if we go 9-7 or 8-8. The reality is there: Invest in mediocre and low-ceiling players enough and that's the kind of team you'll get.

That aside, I see many positive signs on this team. Encouraging flashes of forward movement as a team. And encouraging flashes of good coaching & football acumen.

I'm not sure Philbin is the kind of person that can lead a team in adversity... but if he can do that, he's going to be a good football coach, imo.

So, I'm calling on all Dolphans to retain their sanity, even if we lose tonight. I'm a realist. I can see the huge mediocre spaces on this team. But there's also reason to hope: How a coach can take mediocre players and outplay other teams for huge parts of a game, etc. It bodes well for when this team as talent that can challenge the playoff caliber teams. Right now we DON'T have that -- which is on Ireland, imo -- but once we get 3-5 talented players at WR, TE and OL -- and talented help at LB and DB -- we're a playoff team.

Don't give up the ship. It ain't time to lose your mind, lol.

Hang in there, suffering Dolphans!

Oh, that's not a problem. You have to care to risk your sanity. Now, I'm just looking at the
rest of a season as a bad joke.

The board is a funny thing, if the team just comes out sucking from week 1 it is actually pretty familiar and civil, it is the years like this were the team is beating around the false hope that all hell breaks loose. Must win is an understatement here.

In order not to go 3-13 or 4-12 this is a must win. This team will self-implode with one more loss, this is a man up game of epic proportion.

If you think the same team from the past 3 weeks can finish with a record of 8-8 let alone 9-7, then we need to call someone and have a check on your sanity my friend.

Now if we see a team that resembles the squad that started 3-0, then maybe we can eek out a couple more W's.

But as long as our O-Line resembles Swiss Chz, and Sherman keeps calling plays the way he did against NE in the 2nd half..... we'll be hard pressed to get 3 more W's this year.

There needs to be a big time transformation from this team, and I'm talking major gut check stuff.

Unfortunately, I have about as much confidence about us winning as I do of Matty not-so-Icy coming up big in the 2nd half of a "win or go home" game. But then again, the only other match up I felt this bleak about was against the Colts and look how that turned out.

You're absolutely right and I do understand the need to vent - at least to a point. I would like to be able to come on tomorrow to discuss/debate/argue the game and state of The Fins, but if it turns into an oppressive, Rainmanish Pavlovian lack of self-control & restraint droolfest , then maybe I'll take another short hiatus like I did after having been at the Buffalo fiasco and then having to fight my way out of the parking lot and home.. it was traumatic.

Anyone of the same mind, if I'm not around, feel free to use this new graphic I created with my blessing where appropriate

Yes, what I saw from this team in the first half of the NE game and mostly second half of the Buffalo game -- and also the Baltimore game -- is capable of 9-7. We're only another playmaker WR and TE and good OLman away from 10-6, imo.

This game is as must win as it gets.

I agree that it's a MUST WIN. However, all I'm saying is, keep level-headed even with a loss.

so you mean dont break **** when clabo is in tannehills lap all night??? no promises...god help me if we are as inept as tampa and minnesota were in prime time...

ATL was not a must, nor was NO. The Bills kinda, and the Pats was def a must win. Now that we are in this hole, we have to win tonight to kep the dirt form being thrown on us. Losing to an AFC playoff bound team would really suck. The situation we're in, all remaining AFCE games are must win.

You can say that again Dude. We find out if we are men tonight at Home. Or the same old Dolphin slop being served for years.

i got a wierd feeling we are gonna lose tannehill tonight...

Would not mind checking out Pat Devlin. Just sayin, it's not like we have not lost the last 4 games to bad QB play, wait we have.

QB play was fine against Baltimore.

QB play was ok enough to lose, after the pass to Gibson 3 straight incompletions. Not good enough man. QB play needs to step up, could have had Wins against Baltimore, Buffalo, and New England if not for QB Turnovers and Missed Completions.
